Falafel On Broadway

“Hummus is the backbone of any great falafel sandwich and theirs is some of the best I've had.”

“I also grabbed some baklava to meet the $10 credit card minimum and it wasn't bad, though I feel like it had a hint of lemon, which I haven't tasted in other baklava I've tried.”

“The mint tea, baklava, and lentil soup all might not be earth-shattering, but they make for nice additions that can round out a meal here.”

  1. Came here just for a quick carryout lunch – and pretty sure I got sick from here.

I will say though, that before the sickness, this place was awesome. Affordable, tasty, fun. A lot of my friends have spent a lot of time here and they seem to love it.

I had the falafel sandwich and it was delicious. I might have to try it one more time before ruling it out entirely.

  2. I just ordered delivery from Falafel on Broadway and was very impressed. The prices here are so good, I had to add hummus to my order to meet the delivery miniumum. I was glad I did, their hummus is very good and tasted SO fresh, like it was made that day in the store. I got the Kufta burger, which is two sticks of beef on a ciabatta with lettuce, onion, green peppers, BBQ sauce and mayo. The meat was delicious and seasoned well, but the two pieces were so tiny. I will probably get a sandwich with shredded meats next time. They also went crazy on the mayo and i had to wipe some of it off my burger. I also got the lentil soup, which was delicious. When I come back, I will probably try the falafel platter too because it looks great in the pictures!

I also asked for pita bread on the side with my hummus, and they gave it to me free of charge! I was very pleased about that 🙂

  3. Uh oh, Falafel On Broadway is an unreliable business.

    – Menu and prices –
The prices online/menu are now different than the ones they charge (as of Aug 2016).

    – Platters –
This can work as 1.5-2.0 meals, depending on your appetite. The rice and meat are oily in different ways, and the salad is always wilted.

    – Sandwiches –
If you come here, ignore all else and get a falafel sandwich. Or the gyro sandwich. All the oily or wilty ingredients combined take your attention away from any one thing you might not like.

    – No more discounts –
There was a student discount for students. I told a friend about it and he used it four days ago. I tried to show my ID today, and the guy behind the counter gave me a stern look and said they don't do discounts. Once, I got a discount, but they added a "tax" to my order…

    – Fights –
I've seen a middle-aged couple — who appear to work here — yell or stare at each other angrily on several visits. 🙁

    – Why I kept coming back –
Busy + tired of the few food options on the block + convenience + hangry. I don't think I'll eat here again.

  4. Falafel was good, not outstanding in a city with plenty of good falafel. Baklava was way too sweet I had to throw it away after one bite. It's just a so-so place that opens late and is convenient to neighborhood.

  5. I ordered delivery from them yesterday through Grub Hub. It was delicious. Now I am in love with Hummus. Their Hummus is awesome. Actually I bought some at the grocery store today and it doesn't taste like the Hummus there. We also had sandwiches from there and the baklava. I must say 5 stars.

  6. I had a group of 10 teenagers in the city, and we had Falafel on Broadway delivered. The service was amazing. I called in, explained that I just wanted a good variety of dishes, gave them budget, and in 45 minutes we had a smorgasbord of Middle Eastern deliciousness in front of us.

The food was really great–I loved the okra in a tomato sauce, the hummus…actually, I don't think there was anything I didn't love. It was a hit with the kids, too.

Both the person who took the order and the one who delivered our food were very friendly and knowledgable.

I highly recommend Falafel on Broadway!

  7. Came here with friends, so I could eat something veg after watching them house fried chicken sliders. Not a bad consolation!

I ordered a pita sammy with grape leaves, rice, and added falafel. We got hummus and falafel side to bring back to the apartment. The food was ready in like 10 minutes and cost about $15.

It might just be the drinks talking, but my sandwich was so satisfying. It wasn't too heavy, and I didn't feel gross after eating it. It was the perfect size for me, and the falafel were warm and not overly dense. I didn't love the hummus – thought they put way too much oil on it – but the spices were good.

If I'm in the neighborhood again and need something to fill my tummy, I'll definitely go back for more falafel sammies.

  8. I had a strong craving for Lamb and I am, kinda slightly very, obsessed with gyros.  Not too many options in my area but this can surely fit thé bill.

Dont get me wrong, this isnt gourmet or thé type of place you bring some one you'd like to impress. But it will satisfy your craving. I ordered thé gyro platter, thé chicken gyro with Rice for kids and thé falafel with tahini.

The falafel isnt thé greatest in terms of texture but it did have a décent flavor combo going on. The meats were flavorful and moist. Salad could have been fresher but thé fries were great. I'd return if in thé area or get delivery through seamless. Great amount of food for thé price.
