Fletcher's was the only stand without a sizable line in Smorgasburg Seaport around noon on a weekday. Having some slight claustrophobia of all the tourists buzzing around, I ended up ordering from here. I just wanted a BBQ platter but was surprised to find that Fletcher's offered no sides in their combos (where are the collard greens? mac and cheese?!). There also weren't any plain meat combos – just sandwiches or ribs. I ended up ordering a brisket sandwich combo (comes with chips and a drink for $16) but told her to hold the bread. Their only drink options were water, grape punch, or coke/diet coke.
The service left a lot to be desired. The cashier looked downright stressed/like she hated her job and interrupted my order multiple times to help other patrons. They must just be understaffed which also seems to be a problem at their main storefront. Luckily my food came out quickly enough – with a surprisingly hearty portion of brisket.
I don't generally care for slaw so I won't comment on that, but the brisket was okay. The flavor just tasted like generic supermarket BBQ sauce. The meat itself was cooked fairly well – I was nervous about it being too dry.
All in all, if you are really craving BBQ, this is a decent option but not one I would go out of my way for.
This place is in a food court area with a bar and other food vendors including Korean food, seafood lobster rolls, and sandwiches.
I ordered the BBQ meat salad ($14) with a choice of meat. I tried the brisket salad and it came out more like a pull pork salad with the brisket pull into pieces. They taste the same, just wasn't something I was picturing.
I thought the salad would be a healthier options than plain BBQ, but my salad was soaked in brisket oil. Taste amazing though.
Overall, I like the food court, the vibe, with indoor and outdoor seating. Seaport is nice to grab a quick snack or a beer in fidi.
