  1. Nothing like a Bagel Boy Bagel in the morning! There's no secret here that Bagel Boy is the cream of the crop of bagel shops in Sheepshead Bay. On weekend mornings, the shop gets crowded with a line almost out the door so that's a clear sign of what the neighborhood thinks of it.

If you're a cream cheese on a bagel guy like me then you'll love the variety of flavored bagels and cream cheese they have, specifically the blueberry bagel and walnut raisin cream cheese! Yes, you read that right! It's a combination that my girlfriend turned me onto and I have been hooked on it ever since. She introduced me into a new level of bagel with cream cheese and I now see the light! It's one of the best breakfast bagel combinations I've EVER had.

If you're more of a warm/hot foods on a bagel, roll or croissant person they also serve those here too. And they make them pretty dang well! You can order eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, cheese on any one of those. The eggs are always cooked perfectly and the melted cheese just tops it off.

Despite the long lines, service is always swift here so don't get discouraged when you walk thru those doors on weekend mornings. It's well worth the 10-15 minutes of waiting for that breakfast goodness!

  2. Great bagels. I really love the egg bagels they have here. Kind of hard to find a good one in other bagel places.

  3. Been coming here for quite some time now for my bagel and sammich needs…Perhaps at least 10 years? Perhaps. Excellent variety of fresh bagels, salads and snacks. The store is clean. Service is good, since it is a small store seating is limited, but you can sometimes catch the window seat or the high stools they have in the middle of the store and enjoy your sammich whilst people watching.

  4. I used to like this place better a few years ago. Nevertheless, out of the hundreds of bagel shops in Brooklyn, this one is still up there for me.
Lots of variety in bagels and spreads. They also have sandwiches, soups, salads and of course coffee which is yummy.
Always a long line, whether you come earlier or later but it moves fairly fast.
There is a sit down area which you have to get lucky to grab, other than that there is not much room otherwise, so grab your bagel to go.
Last few times I went there, my bagel was not warm and tasted kind of bland.

  5. New. York. Bagels.

Whyyy are they so good???? That perfectly amount of toasted on the outside and the soft bread on the inside ugh…

This place serves up some amazing bagels with so many options for cream cheese I didn't know which to choose!! My coworker recommended the lox bagel with scallion cream cheese, which was deeelicious. They definitely do NOT skimp on the cream cheese.

Service is fast, as lines do get long at lunch time. The dining area is limited, but it is more of a takeaway type of place. They also offer salads, sandwiches, coffees, juices, premade sandwiches, chips, etc. It's almost like a mini grocery store?

Last time I was in New York, I had a lox bagel at a chain in Manhattan and was very disappointed. However, Bagel Boy will not disappoint! And you can definitely tell from all the locals that go!

  6. The best bagels in Brooklyn! The bagels are always fresh and they have a great variety. My usual order is an everything bagel with cream cheese, tomatoes, and lox. The iced cappuccinos' are also amazing. Don't get discouraged by the long lines, they move really quickly and it's worth the wait!

  7. Everyone knows there's no bagel like a Brooklyn bagel. Period. Bagel Boys, with three locations all in Brooklyn is a great place to get one or 18 dozen. Oh my dear lord. Now those are bagels. Unreal!

I could've just sat for while listening to the "cawfee talk" of the locals, loving every bit of their accents and smelling those bagels.

Bagel Boys is simple, no fuss and has that old traditional Jewish deli feel without being certified kosher. That everything bagel was one of the best I've ever had and I've had my fair share of those carb loaded delicious round devils. It was available in regular or whole wheat. They even serve rainbow bagels and funfetti cream cheese which surprisingly my kiddos didn't opt for but maybe yours will. Apple cinnamon cream cheese, jalapeño, all sorts of fun ones. Unfortunately, no vegan spreads which is ok I guess, but not even hummus. Whaaaaaah! I knocked a star off for that fact. I mean, hummus is such an easy sell especially in addition to the other healthy options they offer.

They have every kind of salad you can imagine…tuna, chicken, whitefish, pasta, potato, egg, and of course they offer fresh nova lox. I mean, duh. You can create your own salad with fresh veggies too.

They cater and make party platters!

The iced coffee was just ok, but it did the trick. I'm becoming a slow or hand drip coffee snob so I'm hard to go by.

Every kind of chip you can imagine with every kind of drink in the refrigerated cases too.

We were so glad to have this less than a block from where we were staying! We would definitely come back!

The guys were all so sweet. Tip them. They were working super hard.

We had no wait whatsoever at 9:30am on a Monday, but it was the 4th of July so it's hard to tell what the wait would be.

  8. good bagels, good food, fairly quick service even for a line that stretches 20 deep sometimes. coffee is usually on point but parking is tough. They make rainbow bagels but they cost $2.50 each and funfetti cream cheese which is $8.99/lb (expensive) but hey, once in awhile for the kids, sure.
