Not sure why it's always so packed… just another korean bbq place in pal park. Went on saturday night and it was packed, couldn't get a table. Went again on sunday afternoon and it was empty. Got seated, ordered the beef combo for 100 bucks. Serving sizes are kinda small for the price, but it does taste good. Better than most places, but only by a small margin. I don't think it's worth the wait and the prices tho.
Considering it was sunday afternoon, when it was practically empty, the service was rather slow. Asked for lettuce and other banchan at least 3 times before we got it. And when we asked for something, instead of going to get it, the server calls it in on their little walkie talkie thing for someone else to get it… and we would just never get anything until we asked 2, 3, 4 times.. And when we did get it, it was such a small amount (whatever the item was), making us ask again and again. Terribly stingy on the banchan. And the steamed egg thing in the middle with the grill? Didn't even cook until we were ready to leave… we were just sitting there, waiting for it boil and cook. I'd rather have them have one ready like ALL THE OTHER RESTAURANTS.
I guess it's worth trying, but I can see it dying down real fast.

Hype or not, I had go here and check out what all the rave was about myself.
The menu is pretty simple and I do not remember what I ordered from top of my head at the moment, so my apologies there- but there are 3 things I want you to know about this place.
1) Quality of the meat (beef and pork in general) was pretty good. I should be careful when I say this, but this place deserves to be mentioned as one of the best KBBQ places I've tried in the Tri-State area within a past few years. (At least for now! Will explain further later.)
2) Selection and quality of side dishes are good. This includes average side dishes including some vegetables with Kimchi, lettuce, sliced scallions, etc.. There were a couple more I can't seem to remember now. (Should've written the review the same day- a good excuse to go back again.)
3) This place gets quite expensive. Sure, the food (meat) is great but we are not talking about "best bang for the buck" kind of a deal here. Make sure you are ready to take the damage when you come to a full stop from a nice journey of yours.
Overall, the restaurant can get quite noisy as it seemed to have become a good spot for a large group gatherings after work during week days, and a couple/single family dining during the weekends. But because of the way each table/grill are setup, it throws you back to one of your favorite, old-fashioned Korean BBQ restaurants in Korea which I thought was cool.
The restaurant also has a very good air ventilation setup right above the grill to minimize oil and other things that can otherwise get on your delicate clothes while using the grill. You don't smell like KBBQ as much as if you were to go to other KBBQ restaurants. Your dog(s) will *almost* let you do your own thing when you get home.
I am definitely making my way back here soon.
Same concept as all the other locations (we've been to LA and NYC), and we love this one just the same. Service is always attentive. The soju prices are the highest in all of PalPark though, which is a shame.
I was excited to hear that this very popular chain Korean BBQ spot was opening nearby- Manhattan spot was in walking distance from my old office, but the never-ending line during peak hours was a major turn off. I also don't eat meat (other than poultry), so my attraction was purely from the hype. My main squeeze also praised the place (NYC) when he went for dinner prior to a game.
We decided to go for an early dinner on my mom's birthday. We knew there'd be plenty of parking since it's where Baden Baden used to be and the huge lot would've more or less remained the main attraction of this property.
We walked in to find an abundance of seating space and windows. There's a lot of waiters, so we never had to wave down anyone- there's also that awesome service button, traditional Korean style!
I made an exception and tried the meat once. I did spit it out but it almost pushed me over the ledge- converting to my no meat diet a decade ago is hard to stick to when you're resting on a cloud of meat smoke. The meat was pretty good- expected. A lot of fat, which is a preferred taste for many. My fam bam was generally happy with the meal. It also comes with an ample amount of Banchan, and don't shy away from asking for a new set when you're done (like me with the potato salad). The dwenjangjigae that comes with the meal was well made. The sauce for the meat was not too sweet- perfect. The pan-side veggies and egg took forever to cook- which was very odd. I think Mapo Galmegi in flushing does a better job. In fact, I prefer their way of doing this whole meat combo concept.
The vents are fine but they don't do that great of a job. I like how Gaonuri does it (though their food sucks and there's word that they're coming into Fort Lee), where the vent is built in and absolutely no smoke comes up.
Not sure where the cops are- they used to hide near Baden Baden to catch the unsuspecting careless drunk driver coming out the bar. Most people drink soju and beer while enjoying their BBQ- that's a known fact that the cops around this area know all too well. I'm never coming here as a designated driver!
Haven't had a bad meal here yet. The combos are the way to go.
The only complaint is that the tables are a bit on the small side. It gets really cramped with all the side dishes and other food items once they start arriving at the table. Order progressively to avoid running out of space.
They have added karaoke room downstairs.
Yummy yummy Korean BBQ!! This restaurant is new, spacious and clean. The service is really attentive and our waitress is really nice and she took good care of our tabel!!
Prime ribs are really yummy and free side dishes are delicious!! The quality of meats are really good and I will definitely come back again !
Perhaps, it takes few tries for an establishment to get it right. Been here several times since my initial review and their service as well as food has been consistently good. Changing my review to 4 stars!
This place does an excellent job. As soon as you sit down, all the side dishes, lettuce salad, bean sprout and green onion salad, dipping sauce, banchan, and grill pan with side accompaniments come out.
There are either singular entrees or a beef combo or pork combo to choose from. The pork combo is tasty and nicely porky. I enjoyed the pork jowl the most as it was thick, chewy, and not too fatty. The pork belly had more soft fat but was good. The marinated pork collar came last. All this pork was good with some veggies. The kimchi soup that came with the combo was good too.
The chain has the same selections as the Manhattan branch. It stays open late, is large and modern, and the staff is helpful. For pork combo, they cook the pork for you!
No complaints. Ate everything, very full. Good for a savory meal.
