I have been dining here for the past two years and celebrated many special occasions like birthdays, Mother's/Father's Day (there was a Prix Frixe menu for like an affordable amount).
I mostly stick to the mouthwatering ribs, steak, and pasta dishes more from the menu. The cocktails are very superbly delicious!
So the Bay Terrace shopping center is full of these franchise restaurants. In my opinion Tony's is the best of the bunch. The bar is nice and big and has a fairly large seating area. The dining area is huge with plenty of tables along with a huge outdoor space. The staff is nice and the restaurant itself is clean. One more thing before the food/drinks review, the restaurant is very kid and even baby friendly. It is a very safe option for a parent out and about.
Ok first drinks… Beer selection can be much better. Especially given the fancy cocktails they offer. I recently tried the sangria and liked it very much. For something that is prepared in advanced it's pretty decent.
Food… Ok so they have a lot of options (boo on the cal count) and I've never been disappointed with any non burger option. I didn't really like their burgers, but ribs, sandwiches, appetizers are all good. I
Been here a few times before going to the movies at Bay Terrace. I have had the ribs, the steak, and the chicken, and all have been cooked very well. Service is good on average, although sometimes you can feel at bit isolated when you are in the outdoor patio area. Not bad, but noticeable. They usually have a pretty good selection of beers, which is always a plus for me. Overall an enjoyable dining experience, at a decent price.
Regular chain dining experience. Service was very good with an over accommodating waiter. Garden salad for extra $2 was great. Ice tea refills. Can't go wrong w a salad. It nice and cold and crisp. My mahi mahi was okay. Clearly frozen but edible. Pretty good coffee. Close to AMC LOEWS and I didn't feel like driving and parking again for dinner.
Came here with a friend the other month for their happy hour, and was sorely disappointed. Our bartender was a ditz who wasn't familiar with any of the food items they served, so we literally had to point them out to her on the menu. After she brought out my friend's order, and I had to wait an additional TWENTY minutes before mine came out. Which make you wonder what the cook was doing back there – it was literally empty inside the restaurant besides two other girls sitting at the other end of the bar. To make matters worse, both of our chicken dishes were so dry that I couldn't even get past the first few bites. Oh, and the sangria? Immensely watered down. I rarely give one 1-star reviews, but I really mean it when I say: STAY AWAY.
One of the nicer chain restaurants in Bay Terrace shopping center. The interior is a lot nicer than Applebee's or Outback. I was seated pretty quickly on a Tuesday night in one of their booths. I had a coupon for my Birthday valid for one free entree and used that towards baby back ribs. Boy that order was huge. It came with two sides so I opted for the loaded mashed potatoes and bacon mac-n-cheese ($2 extra). The loaded mashed potatoes had pieces of bacon inside but it was just too cheesy. They just dumped a lot of shreds of cheese on top and didn't look that appetizing. The bacon mac-n-cheese was delicious and was cooked to perfection as it was crispy on the top and creamy inside. The bf had the fried shrimp dish with french fries. The coleslaw that came with it was okay. I didn't try the shrimps so I can't comment on that.
At the end of the meal we were both stuffed and had some leftovers to take home. The service was decent as the waitress came by a few times to ask how our meal was and to refill our waters.
Was on the way to Outback on Mother's Day when we took a wrong turn, ended up in Tony Roma's parking lot & decided to try something new. I will sum the experience up this way…
Turn on – The restaurant is pretty sizeable & has a nice layout. (There's outside seating in the back)
Turn off – the floors in the middle section were slick & slippery. Even worse, the ladies room was an utter mess!
EXTREME turn off – Not only were the bathroom floors slippery as well but the garbage pail was full to the point that the paper towels were overflowing onto the floor. The sink (although a nice modern touch there) appeared in need of a good scrubbing! It seemed that basically ALL of the staff were either wait staff or assisting the wait staff even though the restaurant was not super busy by the time we arrived. I felt there was NO good excuse for those bathroom conditions!! (Especially after I got a peek at the menu & got a load of the prices)…
Turn on – the waitress was very nice & pretty much on her game (for the most part).
Turn off – the appetizer was delivered by a different wait person. He didn't give us any plates for the appetizers. The waitress showed up about half-way thru with those…
Turn on – Sampler appetizer was ok. We enjoyed the dip but the chips were kinda chewy/stale tasting. Maybe that's how their chips are made? The boneless chicken bites were really good (the sauce, a touch spicy- just right)! The onion loaf was way too much for my boyfriend who really likes onions.(Onions not for me!) If you don't REALLY LOVE onions, maybe not for you…
TURN OFF – The prices! I think I remember seeing the 8 ounce filet mignon for $38. WOW!
Turn on – (mostly) – for the main course meals… My boyfriend had the shrimp & salmon piccata. He did enjoy it. I ordered the filet medallions & rib combo which I have to say was decent. The "loaded" mashed potatoes tasted like they were mostly loaded with garlic! I didn't really love 'em. The filet was pretty good… nothing to rave about. Ok, I'll admit, the ribs were pretty delicious!! The meat, very nice & tender. Good sauce too! I was craving filet mignon (that's why we were heading to Outback) but I'm glad I tried the combo at Tony Roma's which gave a nice variety instead of just ordering a steak!
The strange – Waiters/waitresses were taking the orders but the food was delivered by other staff members. I saw the guy who delivered our appetizers walk right past our table trying to figure out where he was delivering to. Later, a girl walked past trying to figure out where the main course was to be delivered. Thankfully she figured it out!! While we were eating we saw this happen a few more times with other tables, I wondered if they were taking bets when they sent the "delivery person" out blindly as to how many tries it would take to find the correct table! Lmao… Weird yet amusing!
In my opinion, the food was decent but for me, a bit overpriced. The slippery floors in the restaurant & also the overall bathroom conditions are an issue which should be addressed immediately & taken care of before someone slips & takes a tumble. That probably would NOT be very amusing! I'm not sure that I would dine here again but I'm glad I tried it at least once.
Came here for their Happy Hour Special (all day every day). They have $4 – $5 drink specials which are awesome. You dont get watered down drinks and for a great price. You also get complimentary bar chips , although you have to try and track soemone down to actually deliver them to you if you want more than one round of chips.
The appetizers are also $4 – $5, they are good..but the drinks are the reason we keep coming back. Its a good time if you want to just hang out with a date or a few friends. You just have to be sure you sit at the bar.
