I'm still in search for that WOW New York pizza. I would go into some non-descript pizza joint or into a Yelp lauded one in Manhattan, and I get the same experience from a taste standpoint. Yes, there are the ones where I could, if I really tried, distinguish the subtle quality differences. But otherwise it's about the same, at least from a by-the-slice perspective. This place was no different.
I came here with muted high expectations, being that it had received high marks on Yelp. But I had tried New York Pizza Suprema and was underwhelmed, so I treaded this lightly. Alas, my expectations, however muted, was not fulfilled. Don't get me wrong, still good pizza, better than you'll find just about anywhere outside of NY. But in here, it's as good as any other, but not better. So another experiment not quite fulfilled. I think I really need to try the made-to-order whole pie, but… I can't eat all that…
Table-for-1 Factor: Pizza joint in Manhattan. Nuff said.
Came here right before closing, right as a family with kids was leaving, so it was a little weird being the only customer sitting there eating a plate of spaghetti while all the employees cleaned up and got ready for closing. I'm just happy they allowed me to sit and eat! Decent but not terrific pasta/sauce, large portion. I'd come back to try their pizza.
Decent pizza for this part of town. Where you can definitely find a starbucks, wich craft or sbarros, this pizza joint is a nice change of pace.
I came here with a friend to fill up before an elite event.
I asked the guy for the ricotta slice.
He blinks.
"you mean the white slice"
Okay, fine. give me the white slice.
he heats it up. And starts to ring up the order. apparently, i was being quizzed as he asks me what i ordered.
2 ricotta slices.
"two WHITE slices"
i roll my eyes at this point becuase really bro, its not that serious. Fine, if you call it a white slice… but it DOES have ricotta on it. so there.
no other complaints.
the pizza was hot and fresh. Im just a moron that doesnt know the difference between white and ricotta.
Almost next door to where I work, it is very convenient for me. However, a pepperoni slice here was a little over $3. That just seems a little ridiculous to me. The garlic rolls are great though, hot and crispy then soft in the middle and some garlic butter soaking into them (4 for a dollar).
They guys here are nice and the service is fast. There is quite a bit of seating in the back, more than you would expect from looking at the front of the building. I will find myself here over and over again, just because it is so close, but not that great.
Super good Pizza with Vodka sauce, and the pepperoni slice was very tasty too.
I so miss working right around the corner from this place. The best buffalo chicken slices hands down!!! Makes me very sad that I've given up meat and can no longer have them. I used to have a knack for coming just as the pie came out of the oven and as soon as I walked in they would shout out "two slices?"
They were a favorite for my whole office on 36th even a few people in my office when I moved to 31st. Really good food, fast delivery
If you are dining in, the place is not the fanciest by far but pizza makes up for it.
