We love shabu and this place right around the corner so why not? Well, I tell you why NOT. The prices seem cheaper than competitor's at first but it's not. You get much less than Minni's in Flushing so you have to order additional items which are priced much higher.
I feel the sauce bar did not have as much choices. Also they charge "share" fee bringing little ones will also add up on the bill! Went here with high hopes but sadly we will not be back.
Love this place more and more each time I come. This is the first time at this location and the food is awesomeness as usual 😀 today I had the original herb for the first time with the seafood combo yum yum. My bf had the seafood and fatty beef combo with original herb, too. I think the original herb complements anything. It's tastes traditional. We ordered a side of lean beef (why he chose it beats me, I'm for team fatty beef) and sweet rice brown cakes. Ahh so good. The cakes were softer than I remembered. The portion size of the seafood prolly would have been perfect for me if I didn't have the other meats and side dishes. I saved my seafoods for lastish. I was full halfway through but I kept eating because I'm gna eat the money I spent okk. I'm that person. The blue crab was good. I really love using the crab shell as a bowl to sip soup. I think it carries a not crabby flavor. I would spoon up some broth into the shell and drink it from there. I'm also that person.
My sauce was bomb again :3 I think BBQ May be the key ingredient to making the sauces super tasty. I also added the soy and spicy garlic sauce(?) this time. I love playing with the options.
The passion fruit green tea is really good! On the sweet side and kinda tangy.
I love both location equally because each location has their pro and cons.
Pro for this location is that it is closer to my bf's. Con is that it closes at 10ish which is a HUGE pro for the other place cuz it closes at like 1 AM (on a weekday!).
Parking is in the lot behind the restaurant.
It's not too bad here. There is a parking lot which is pretty convenient.
The servers are attentive.
There is plenty of food without ordering the side dishes IMO (but then again, I have a small stomach)
There are a good selection of sauces there.
The only downside is, compared to other hot pot places, this place isn't above-amazing food.
This place is great for hotpot, what a great find. The location is easy to find, right off the LIE exit for Springfield Blvd. The menu has a large selection and combos to choose from, we got seafood olen pot and combo meat pot. The restaurant was clean, the food came out fast and fresh, and the service was friendly and welcoming. I really liked this place and am glad that this was my friends first hotpot experience.
It's hard to beat this shabu shabu place with individual hot pots that you can dip your meats into. It's a good deal in terms of price regardless of what you choose. Try their prime beef, clams, and fish balls. I only wish they had fresh fish paste.
The service is fast, friendly, and helpful. Parking is ample in the lot in the back or on the street.
Excellent service. Fun to make one's own soup. I have tried the seafood, chicken, lamb, beef. The secret is to put the correct condiments in your soup and to regulate the temperature of the soup while cooking (staff help w this). Parking in the rear. Lots of vegetables, so a very healthy fun meal.
I will definitely be back! I am a huge hotpot and shabu shabu fan and this place did not disappoint. True, there are not many parking spots out front but lucky I came at a off lunch hour (3 pm?) and I was able to find a decent spot not too far.
They have great choices and the portions are pretty good. I typically do not like chicken but they were sliced thin and definitely my next order. I am a big veggies fan and although the individual portions are great, I wish they have more spinach and mushrooms. I did like the pumpkin. Mm
The sauce bar is very very nice! Windows are foggy because of the steam but it's not a bad thing. The service was excellent and everyone was smiling and we received excellent service
It can get a little loud if there are big parties as people tend to catch up but that's not the restaurants fault.
The only reason they don't get 5 stars from me is because the extras are not the best portions for the price. Although fresh, we wished we got a little more fish balls
Great location right next to LIE. I don't have to venture out to Flushing for some good shabu shabu anymore. I think this is the second location, as the first one is on Kissena Blvd in Flushing. There's a parking lot in the back and plenty of street parking in the front.
I went on a Monday night and there were plenty of seats. It's pretty spacious and can fit large groups. The menu is pretty straightforward, but definitely order a combo to avoid paying the extra $2.00 for soup. I ordered the shrimp ( 4 pieces) and beef combo which came with a plate of vegetables and chicken broth soup. They don't give an egg, but they do give lettuce, taro, yam, fish balls, and tomatoes. The shrimps were actually larger than other places but they were not cleaned properly. The intestines were still there after I peeled off its shell. The combo was $14.95 and most of the choices range from $12-16.
Service is OK. I had to ask the waiter twice for glasses of water and he only came back to provide refills once we asked for the check.
