The food was delicious and our waiter was extremely nice. We got Chana as soon as we were seated. I took the waitress's advice on the appetizer and got the fried Banga Mary and it was perfect (small fried fish). We then got the pepper steak with rice and beans and salad and the oxtail stew, also with rice and beans and salad. They were both very good and the stew was not as watery as I thought it would be. It was basically in a gravy and wasn't like a soup. We had the please of meeting the cook, and Kenny was extremely nice and gave us desserts on the house. It was overall a wonderful experience with great food and people. I'll definitely be back.
I'm crazy about customer service and this place gets that.
I went in to Spice twice – both on Friday nights and I have to say the staff here is well trained. The bartenders and hostess are quick to greet you with a friendly smile, it's so hard to find that at a West Indian restaurant.
The food is awesome. I personally LOVE the mango chow.
The restaurant itself is so clean. Both times that I've gone in I've been amazed by how spotless everything is. In terms of time, the food is cooked fresh so nothing is going to be zapped to you the minute you order BUT the wait time is definitely not long.
As others mentioned, parking can some times be difficult but at night there seems to be a bunch right across the street.
Definitely should be on your must try list when visiting Queens.
Spice was a great experience. The appearance has so much character and uniqueness to it. I feel like I'm walking into a restaurant on a resort. I've been here several times and everyone working there was extremely attentive to myself and friends. It doesn't matter if you go for lunch at 3pm or for a midnight snack at 12am, the food is always super fresh. I wish I could come here every night after work, the food tastes like something my mom would make.
The menu is fresh and inventive, with classics done right. It's hard to find a West Indian spot where all the food is made fresh. Usually I'll walk into a West Indian restaurant and see curry waiting to be served.
The bar is top notch! You can find everything from wine to Hennessy to Dom Perignon. The owner knows what to serve to make her guests feel special. The prices are pretty decent too, and you get so much for your money. I will be returning!
I went to this resteraunt a few times since they recently opened. The first time I went was for the grand opening when they offered free drinks and appetizers. That night was great, the food was really good and the drinks were also good.
The second time I went was to host a baby shower, they catered the whole party, set everything up and gave me a great price on everything I ordered. The music was good, the food was good and best of all the service was good.
Tonight, I went there for dinner with my aunt. We got a nice table in the corner. Immediately, we were met by a waitress who took our drink order followed by our appetizer order. Shortly, our appetizers and drinks came out. We then ordered our dinner and waited. Our wait was quite short and the music was good while we waited. The food came out and it was delicious.
There are many west Indian resteraunts in the Richmond Hill area. However, this place is better than most that I've tried. The food is authentic and just like a home cooked meal. They have EVERYTHING on the menu and everything is made fresh to order.
I enjoyed eating here and I intend on going again. I hear the brunch is pretty good and I'm going to try it out next week. The only downside is the parking which is hard to find but if you go across the street there are many spots.
