  1. dude, seriously? I must have eaten something that the other reviewers didn't eat.
This place is mediocre at best.
Really nice people working there, very friendly, very attentive, but I'm sorry if that's the Rey then Midtown East is screwed.

  2. Some of the best food I've had has been from street carts but in south east Asia and India. I tend to avoid them in other countries but my boyfriend insisted we find this cart whilst visiting New York after reading reviews on yelp.

We had tacos, one beef and one spicy pork (although I agreed to it being medium not hot as the lady gave me a look to say that I'd not manage the heat!). I could have had it spicier but it was tasty all the same. I preferred the pork whilst my boyfriend preferred the beef.

They were much smaller than I imagined and $3 is more than you'd pay at other carts in New York but they were good and the staff were lovely and chatty.

  3. Because there seems to always be a long line of regulars, the food is fresh, and because the clientele express their gratitude constantly (due to lack of comparable, affordable dining options nearby) to the dynamic duo who work in the cart they are incredibly friendly and engaging in return, so that makes for an overall wonderful casual experience in this hectic frenzied gridlocked neighborhood. The food is great, authentic, and filling. Great find! Can't wait to return!

  4. This is the only cart in a 5 block radius that I trust.  Yes it's a little more pricey than the average street meat but the kings of flavor deliver!  The verde sauce has a massive kick to it, and will probably make anything in there worth eating.  The enchiladas are a win.  The tacos, win.  Tortas, win.  The sides… fail.  Consider this a high 3 stars.

  5. Finally!  A real taco cart in midtown.

There are carts in midtown sure, but most of them seem to be all about the hot dog and rice on meat.  Tacos were clearly missing.  But no longer!

+ You really can't find anything like this in midtown

    – They don't disguise the fact that they use fairly cheap meat well enough.

+ But they were still yummy

    – Need to be more efficient with their order taking/cooking

+ But they made everything fresh

    – They only had a few different kinds of meats

+ The chicken came in fairly large chunks

+ Just about the perfect amount of garnishes, including very thinly sliced radish

It's a bit of a walk from my office to get there, but on a nice day, it's definitely worth the trip.  My lunch was six bucks, which is a heck of a deal too.
