  1. Came here for a company event.  It's an amazing venue & I'm glad Time Out: NY gave it a shout out last week.  The staff is very friendly, the food is awesome (especially their meatballs) and the space itself is extremely comfy and unexpected when you're walking around outside.  They also have a great film selection & I'd love to come back here for a date night.  Located right near the L train & sure to satisfy any foodie and/or film connoisseur you know (you know, the people who actually know something of cinema).  I understand ticket prices are also very reasonable for movies here.  Go check them out if you haven't already.

  2. They transformed a once-empty spot into a vibrant bar with unique offerings and delicious cocktails–you can't help but love it. I stopped by here on the 4th of July and it was great. The bar staff was friendly and ready to engage in a little conversation. Plus, the food was top notch and fairly well priced. i didn't get a chance to catch a movie, but their set up is awesome. If I'm ever in town again, I'll be sure to drop in and catch a flick.

  3. This place is amazing. Came here with two friends last night to watch the matrix. The tickets are 3 dollars!! Nice to have something actually inexpensive in NYC. And the seats are comfortable too with a really cool table set up. I would give 5 stars but there were some service issues. They brought out some beers we didn't order and then gave our food to wrong person lol. We eventually got everything we ordered and they comped us a few items so it was worth it. And I'm hoping that was just a service fluke because this place is seriously so cool. Beautiful space- there is a bar with amazing lighting and high ceilings, and then there's the theater where you can order food and drinks. Corn dog and fries were delish but I will have to come back to try more stuff. This place is great for a date!

  4. A theater experience like no other! A movie theater, bar, and restaurant all in one. The movie selection varies every few days and ranges from movie classics to recent favorites. I opted for Hitchcock night to catch a showing of Psycho.

I had a hard time finding the building since it has no obvious markings on the walls of the building and looks like the other warehouse buildings in the area. A peek of the movie lists from the hallway led me into the theater.

Although movie tickets are sold online for $5 at most, the showing I planned to go to was sold out, so I decided to wait on standby. While I waited for the movie to start, I ordered a drink at the bar. The outside bar was really big with plenty of seating and high ceilings. As the movie started, I lined up alongside the theater with a group of about 10 other people waiting on standby. We were all let into the theater, and since the paid ticket holders never showed, we were let in for free. A small menu with pencil laid on the table in front of the high backed padded benches. There were plenty of spaces in between the tables so groups weren't forced to sit too close to each other. The waiter never came by to take our menu which held my order, but I wasn't so anxious to get the food so I didn't bother to flag him down. Since I never tried the food I can't give my input on that. However, the experience of watching a classic movie with a drink in hand and the ability to sit comfortably on a bench with my group made for a really fun and unique experience. I'm looking forward to coming back for another movie soon!

  5. The entrance is very low key, but you walk into a beautiful large space, with high ceilings. The lighting is subtle. A simple trim wraps around the space, with themes of Art Deco throughout. The bar is light by cylindrical desk lamps. An open kitchen is placed towards the back.

The space evokes a mood of nostalgia and history. The beer is decent, with 10 draft options, along with cheap, reliable Narragansett ($4) and Dale's Pale ($5).

Granted, I have yet to try out the theater or the food, but hopefully soon.

  6. The bar has an excellent design, and the drinks looks delicious. The food is TWO STAR worthy, it was just not to my taste at all and left me in a bad mood.

This is a review of the brunch: Im not a fan of the flavors of the burrito, or the hash, the execution is uneven, and the flavors are off. But the scotch egg was delicious.

I want to compare it to Nighthawk, but it is its own thing.

I still give it four stars because I love the aesthetic. Come for a cocktail, or a movie and skip the brunch.  There are a ton of better brunch places nearby.

  7. A Movie Theater, Bar and Restaurant?  Gastro pub munchies and gourmet candy? Three giant projections on the wall?  Separate theater with table service? Single screening tickets for three bucks and double features for only five…..WAHAAAAAAAAmaaazing!!!
I mean c'mon why the frack are there are not more of these. Im just stoked it popped up in my hood!
Syndicated has managed to capture a mix of hip & comfy, boozy & tasty, film geekdom that's affordable, and all with a welcoming and unpretentious vibe.

The Layout is great, divided into 2 main spaces, Bar & Restaurant and the Movie theater.
You enter the the main space to high vaulted ceilings, an open layout with a large four sided bar in the center and table seating on each side. The back main wall houses three projections.  The evening I went two of them were devoted to X-Files, with their accompanying sound.  The size and openness of the space allows your focus to be in conversation or in enjoyment of the televised selections.  A perfect environment to go with a group or by yourself to enjoy an awards show, game or the collected viewing of cult shows like The Walking Dead…(Twin Peaks would be a great series to run here….hint hint!)

I had arrived pumped to see the Swedish vampire film Let The Right One In.  I arrived about an hour ahead of time and sat at the bar.  The bartender was extremely friendly and quick for as busy as it was.  I ordered a Bells Two Hearted Ale on draft and loaded tater tots, which consisted of heaping basket full topped with cheese and sliced jalapenos.  I was able to purchase the ticket for the film on my bar tab allowing me to relax up until showtime.

The theater is simple and comfortable, with almost booth like bench seating and small table/bars lining the rail in front.  The sides of the rows are back lit with super cool old school hand drawn popcorn people, like the ones from "Let's all go to the lobby."
Munchies and Libations are offered in the theater as well. With gastro pub style options such as meatballs, popcorn fried oysters and lobster quesadillas, while still of course offering gourmet candy and popcorn with choice of seasonings (try the Gun Powder or get some classic Old Bay).  The usher / waiter was extremely welcoming and informative, showing you the ordering process consisting of a small clipboard with menu worksheets and little pencils to make your choices during the screening.  A simple and effective way of continuing your bar time without annoying your fellow viewers.

Syndicated Theater's two spaces is a huge selling point for me.  Allowing you to partake in either one or in my case a little of both.  I look forward to the monthly curation of screenings.  They are currently running Oscar nominated shorts and selections in the week preceding the awards, while still offering cult classics like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and new classics like Mad Max and Straight Outta Compton.  This is definitely one of my new favorite spots!
