The best place to come for protein after a long day of hiking on the mountain!
This used to be picnic garden. I am not sure if the owner is the same but the food is def fresher and restaurant is much cleaner!!!
Your typical all you can eat Korean eat joint. Lots of selections of meat and side dishes to pick from. The service was great and attentive too! Def would pick this place over the ones in the city.
All you can eat Korean goodness!!!!!
So I have had Picnic Garden bookmarked on yelp for quite some time now and after many recommendations from friends I decided to come check it out. So I pull up my yelp app and realized that the name had changed to Mr. BBQ and after reading some reviews I came to the conclusion that it was the exact same place and that nothing but the name had changed.
My friend and I arrived around 8PM waited 5 mins and were seating in a large booth that could of probably sat 6 people which I loved because this girl needs room. Our waitress come over and took our drink orders and off we went to the buffet. The buffet area was so well organized and extremely clean which makes me really happy. The second I saw the oray of different marinated meats I was in heaven. Pork belly, kalbi, bulgogi, shrimp, marinated chicken and pork, sausage, you name it they had it. They also had a large selection or hot and cold appetizers and vegetables along with rice and soups. The kimchi rice was really delicious and so were the fried dumplings. Once I made a plate of raw meats and of my other sides/condiments it was time to cook.
Once at the table the waitress had already lit the grill and cut up our meat for us along with our onions in bit size pieces. I love that you get to cook the food yourself and to the temperature of your liking. I was in charge of the cooking for my friend and myself and was sure to leave the pork and chicken on the grill longer to insure I fully cooked it. The meats I tried were all marinated so well and the flavors were absolutely unbelievable not to mention how tender the meats were OMG I can not wait to come back here again and again.
The value of your dollar definitely goes a long way here and I can't wait to take my friends here for an amazing Korean BBQ meal.
WARNING: MEAT SWEATS/FOOD COMA WILL COMMENCE AFTER EATING HERE!
Came back here (yet again) and realized it's no longer Picnic Garden.
But unless you actually paid attention to the new signage, otherwise you probably wouldn't have noticed anything different because literally everything else is exactly the same. The same type of meats are being served, the same type of side dishes etc. Even the freakin' placement of the food is in the same area. So yeah, you probably won't notice anything different if you're a regular customer.
In terms of the food, it literally tastes the same. Nothing really has changed since my previous review which was basically:
1. There's tons of food here
2. You will probably overeat
3. You might shit your pants if you're not careful (due to overeating)
4. There's plenty of different meat/seafood/banchan etc to choose from
5. You will be damn full when you're done
The service here is generally okay. Usually it's brisk but sometimes it can be slow if it's really busy, but I don't really recall it ever being super busy whenever I am here. However, I do tend to eat on the early side.
I guess if it ain't broke, there ain't no need to really fix it. So Mr. BBQ, Picnic Garden, whatever. This is still a great place for AYCE Korean BBQ, even if the meat isn't always a home run, but it's good enough for the price.
This place used to called Picnic Garden BBQ. If you are a meat lover, this is heaven for you. Meat is so fresh and refilled quickly, waitresses are super attentive. I think the feeling of eating as much as you want without having to choose makes this place awesome. In the end, I think I spend as just much here as I would to get myself stuffed in a typical, expensive Korean BBQ.
This used to be called Picnic Garden. Other than the name, everything else in there as well as the pricing structure stays the same. Still the best Korean BBQ buffet I've ever been to in the tri-state area!
Plenty of tables with built-in gas grill. One table can comfortably seat 6. Buffet lines are pretty clean and meat are fresh. Quite wide selection of banchan: pickled radishes, kimchis, mandoos, japchae, and the like. Plenty selections of sauces too.
Wise word of advice: don't fill yourself up too much with carbs and banchan! (Though I find myself guilty of this over and over again). And if you come with children or senior citizens, please watch them closely because the floors can get real greasy
I wonder why we weren't given ice cream cups at the end of our meal. Picnic Garden used to give ice cream cups at the end of the meals. Maybe I just had to ask.
When you first walk in, it doesn't appear to be much. Once you get settle and grab food, you can't stop eating! The staff were very courteous and helpful. They switch the grill plates fairly often and help you cut your meat. I would have to suggest fixing/cleaning the water on the bathroom floor.
The Story: Annual 4th of July Weekend BBQ fest – starting with KBBQ.
Food:
I feel the quality of meat isn't as high but that is to be expected at an AYCE place. I like the squid, mackerel, the seafood porridge and the chicken gizzards.
and I LOAD UP ON THE KALBI!
I don't know if it is because of the Holiday weekend – they seem more stocked on a lot of appetizers than usual.
Price: $35.99 pp for holiday/weekend. Come on an empty stomach!
Service: Service is decent. They kept the water coming, changed the grill once its charred and cut out meat for us.
Parking & Finding the Place: Located right next to the 24hr fitness in Englewood Cliffs. Make the left turn BEFORE the building.
