My friend and I decided to wander around this area looking for somewhere that had food and/or drink specials. Fortunately, Atomic wings had half priced beers and cheap burgers. Unfortunately, the saying you get what you pay for held true at this place.
Although there were multiple employees wandering around the restaurant, don't sit at your table and wait for one to come over and ask for your order. Apparently none of them are waiters and you have to order at the bar. Upon arriving at the bar to order, we asked the bar keep two simple questions (along the lines of "Do the burgers come with lettuce and tomato") and he said he had no idea about the food we would have to ask the chef who was dilly-dallying around. Now I understand the bartender may not always have as intimate of a knowledge of the food as a server or cook, but I do expect a bartender to be able to answer easy questions about the food, especially if he is the only one in the restaurant that takes orders. The beer list was mediocre, but cheap and helped wash down my burnt burger. The waffle fries were good, so don't miss those if you come here.
One thing I didn't understand here was how loud it was. Music was blasting to the extent that I could barely hear what my friend was saying. There is definitely a time and a place to blast music, but 2 PM on a Friday when there is only 4 patrons in the bar is not the time (arguably this bar is the place though).
The one thing that would make me comeback to this restaurant is the specials. Everyday they had an array of pretty cool specials. I actually tried to get my friends to come on Saturday for the 3 pitchers and bottomless wings for $23 deal just because I have a hard time believing that is real.
I made the mistake of choosing a place to eat without looking at reviews on Yelp. I think this place finally taught me my lesson.
Atomic Wings has been serving up real authentic Buffalo wings Inside Down The Hatch for years. They are made well but you have to eat them there while there still hot and crispy, not soggy. Everything delivered that is fried usually turns to mush. My recommendation is order them nuclear, eat them there with a beer and enjoy.
Food: Overpriced, sauce drenched, meatless wings. More sauce on the wing than meat. If you come to early the wings may very well be left overs from the day before, as the meat tasted dry, tough, and re-fried.
Drink: Overpriced draft beer. Horrid selection, was like Coors, Stella, and other macro brews. Can't speak about liquors, didn't try.
Service: Self serve.
Crowd/Ambiance: Surprisingly it got packed, must be first timers like us. Dank aroma, messy tables (no waiters to clean spills), uncomfortable booths (built in seats had like 7 inches of seat space), cramped restrooms.
