FRESH and Original! That's the word. When you are like my friend and I tired of spicy hotpot, tired of cold sushi in the winter, tired of greasy dishes….. We want a healthy feast and here we found it! (Funny they told me this method is originally from my home town yunnan yet I never tried it before haha).
Steaming hotpot is where good cooking materials meets healthy cooking method. Wide selection of materials and creative sauces are great for group gathering. I lost count of the sauces they have… But they have a few original creations – mushroom sauce(my friends favorite), beef meat sauce(my favorite), sweet wine sauce (for seafood), and fruit juice(paired with dumplings and other stuff).
Food materials are presented origin and fresh! We basically loved all of them, but here is some highlights:
Steamed seafood and fish –
Stone crab – amazing! Sweet from freshness, super tender with a natural butter aroma. Awwww, I can eat 5 of this on a row!
Porridge at the end – fresh, yummy, absorbed all the essence from the materials cooked before. My stomach loved it. Super healthy and satisfying!
Dumplings – solid made. Looked so pretty after steaming for 6 mins….
In the end, it is a reward to health and taste. Also kinda a warm alternative to sushi/sashimi I. My mind =) enjoy it and have fun! Owner is very friendly, checks with us how we enjoy our meal now and then.
Fresh material and heathy food! Everything reminds me of hotpot – big electronic stove, raw materials coming in plates and bowls, the menu, etc.
Before came here and saw with my eyes, I wasn't able to imagine how the steam pot is going to work. Our waitress helped us a lot: she explained the menu clearly, helped us prepare 16(maybe even more?) kinds of dipping source, assisted to put raw food into the steam pot, controlled the cook time, and moved our eating process foward……
Highly recommend the whole fish. What a good news to fish foodies that you can eat an entire fish! Recommend vegetable source, sesame oil with garlic/green onions source, and seafood flavor source. Match several fishes very well.
Price is charged reasonably. My fiancée and I ordered a whole fish, several vegetables, meat, and porridge. We paid about $50 pre tax and service fee. I think this is a fair charge.
Kind of tired of hotpot so I'm really looking for something exotic, and yes, thriving steam pot provided me exactly what I wanted.
As a first timer, we followed suggestion and opted for the fixed set – beef, assorted seafood, fish, and finally dumpling and veggie. We also ordered a crab for share. In the end, a pot of porridge cooked at the bottom was ready and it perfectly cleaned up my palate.
Everything was super fresh and deliciously prepared. Enjoyed every single course. Fantastic place! Fairly priced as well.
