Nish Nush is an awesome healthy choice for Middle Eastern food in the Financial District.
Although it's very good, I'm reluctant to give it 5-Stars as I feel it's not as good as a few other places with respect to certain dishes:
Falafel: very good, but not as good as Taim or Cafe Mogador
Hummus: very good, but not as good as Cafe Mogador or Papa Kebab
Shakshuka: very good, but not as good as Jack's Wife Freda or 12 Chairs
Labneh: very good, but not as good as Manousheh or Au Za'atar
Haloumi: very good, but not as good as Cafe Petisco or Jack's Wife Freda
Babaganoush: very good, but not as good as Papa Kebab
So, as you can see, I do think Nish Nush is really good, especially for lunch, as the portion size is HUGE. It's almost too much food and could feed 2-3 people. Whenever I get lunch here, I usually order the Falafel Trio and can never finish it as they give you a ton of food, and for a price of only $12.
The Falafel Trio, is the best value and best dish to order as you get a little bit of everything:
– 3 Falafel Flavors (green, harissa & red)
– Hummus
– Israeli Salad
– Red & White Cabbage
– Pita
– Olives, Pickles, Tahini
There's so much food on this platter, that I promise you won't finish it…and it's really good.

If you are in the financial district this a good food option that you should try. Their falafels are offered in 3 flavors (Regular, spicy, spinach) all pretty good. I love that everything here tastes fresh and the sauces are pretty tasty too. Staff is very pleasant as well. TIP: If you are getting the trio sandwich (brings all 3 falafel flavors) because of all the ingredients you won't really taste the difference in the falafel balls in the sandwich. So get a cheaper sandwich that has 1 falafel flavor or get the trio platter so you can taste the difference.
The only downside is if your a BOB (baller on a budget) like me. Their prices are a bit on the higher side. Falafel sandwich expect to pay $8-$11 depending on sandwich. Their platters are about $12-$14 but are pretty big on hummus, veggies, and you get like 9 falafel balls. 2 light eaters can share it. If you like falafel and vegetarian food options then Nish Nush is recommended specially in this area. I the @Skinnyfatbastardnyc approves!
Great place for a bite. We stopped for the falafel platter which was delicious. Authentic and flavorful falafel, certainly not a mix like some places serve. The server was very sweet. The hummus and salads served with the falafel were very good. The platter was quite big as well. Certainly enough for the two of us plus my daughter had a doggie bag to take home. Clean place, fresh food.
Delicious, fresh Mediterranean food done right! The location was cool, there was plenty of seating, and the prices were very reasonable. Service was also quick and polite! I really enjoyed Nish Nush and would recommend to a friend. The baba ganoush and Israeli salad were highlights!
Skip this place if you're a meat lover… I was sadly disappointed when needing my protein fix. Expensive too!
I stopped in for their highly touted falafel, but ended up getting a hummus and salad pita. The hummus was mild, creamy, and clearly homemade. The thing that jumped out at me, though, was the salad. You could taste the fresh lemon juice and herbs almost before you bit in. Combine that with really, really excellent halva, and you've got a winner.
The schug was excellent, and they have some at each table. That's good, because it's not too spicy, so you can add a bit to each bite even if your tolerance is not at Israeli levels. The staff was warm and kind. Bathrooms were excellent, with a couch in a waiting area and a separate washing station in addition to bathroom sinks.
Nish nush gets you a hearty and delicious meal for a very reasonable price. The service was extremely good and fast too, which makes it ideal for the FiDi executive who is always in a rush.
Absolutely delicious restaurant, and a great value for the price. I left completely stuffed, and I gorged myself beyond imagination. I ordered the falafel trio – a plate STUFFED with falafel, two types of cabbage salad, Israeli salad, lettuce, hummus, olives, and pickles was served – with a pita. Everything was tasty and flavorful. I still cannot believe what value I received!
Anyway, yummy and I probably will be back soon, as I work right nearby.
