Great little place. I always go before a Barclays event.
This is one of my go to spots before or after a game or event at Barclays center, they have a few seats but you can't count on getting a seat here so I usually just take it to go, I can't vouch for anything but the falafel pita because I've gotten that every time I came here because it's that good, my little brother had the chicken breast in a pita and he really liked it, they have a lot of delivery orders so sometimes you have to wait a little while after you order but at least you know it's fresh, next time I'll call ahead
We were in the area to catch a concert at Barclay's and stopped by Kulushkat for a quick dinner. I haven't had falafels as good as Kulushkat's in NYC yet, and that is saying something!
Six dollars will get you a whole pita stuffed to the brim with red cabbage slaw and your choice of falafels. I ordered the chicken falafel wrap and it really hit the spot! I have had many the sad attempt at falafels (dry and overcooked), but the falafels at Kulushkat were perfect! They were crunchy on the outside but fell apart nice and easy on the inside…delish!
If you are in the area, the falafels are a MUST-HAVE! Unfortunately, it is a very small storefront and seating is limited, so don't try coming in with a large group!
Great spot for a quick Falafel on the go before going to watch an event at Barclay's Arena.
The Falafel was made so fresh and mixed in real good with my Alcoholic Beverage. The service was top notch for that short period of time waiting during the preparation.
You now have a customer for life before any performance at Barclay's.
This is place is right across the street from the Barclay's. The Gilly Falafel combo with seasoned fries was very good. The service is great they were kind enough to bring my food to my car when they realized I was illegally parked which was very nice of them. The prices are also reasonable. I will definitely be back.
Hipster falafel if such a thing could exist. Food is very good and the portions are generous. Great option if you're drinking at one of the nearby kitchenless bars and need something to soak up your beer. No question about revisiting if the opportunity arises. Wouldn't say I'm craving it, but I'd eat there again for sure.
OMG YES, shut up and eat!! (This is apparently what Kulushkat translates to)
So thrilled this place is walkable from Brooklyn Boulders and right by the massive Atlantic Ave subway hub.
Get the Gilly and cease all conversation upon first bite. It's a mouthful of textures & flavors, savory and saucy and totally satisfying. The falafel itself is pretty flavorful but really the other elements of the sandwich (the hummus, red cabbage, eggplant — DAMN the eggplant is really good!!) make the thing amazing. The whole is really more than the simple sum of the parts. Simple, yet magical.
This past Sunday the gentleman who took our order seemed disproportionately peeved that we wanted to add a bottle of water to our order after he rang us up (I suppose that is irritating) but not even that could dim my enjoyment of the delicious sandwich!
It takes a while to prepare an order, so if you're in a hurry or famished (as I usually am post-climb) you can call 10 minutes ahead and put in your order for pick up.
The strawberry and banana smoothie, made with coconut milk, is delicious and not too sweet as they do not add any extra sweeteners. Just the way I like it.
I will not say this is better than Taim, but undisputedly, I would look forward to a pita sandwich here every time I'm in the area.
Small spot but great for lunch. Had the Sharwarma/Falafel sandwich. Great sandwich and great value, a little too much red cabbage for me but still ate it all.
