S’MAC

“It has sweet andouille sausage, celery, spices etc. I think too much of a good thing and would be great if I had downsized to the "Nosh."”

“I got the Major Munch size, and I'm (sort of) ashamed to say I devoured it all, because it's easily enough for two meals.”

“So I opted for the Indian marsala (curry style) MnC as well as the "upper crust" MnC that came with figs, brie, and caramelized onions.”

  1. Super yummy! Today was my first time eating here, but I've heard good things about it. Boy, were they right! I liked the ample amount of tables throughout the place and the fact you eat out of a nice piping cast-iron skillet. Makes it special and feels more authentic whether it's placebo or not, haha. I got the Cajun style mac and it was delicious. The Cajun is for those who want a bit of spice in their mac and pepperjack is one of my faves. In the mac there was small slices of sausage too, mmm mmm. The mac comes in three different size too depending how much you want. I got the "medium" size and that was plenty, albeit I was not starving per se.

S'MAC serves up a very loaded style of mac and cheese and I'm sure this place is popular in the colder seasons especially. There's even a more veggie style option.

With my mac I got just a common Nantucket's lemonade, so nothing to say much about their drink selection. On their chalkboard menus, they have a variety of beer too which is good to know for next time. I will be stopping by S'MAC soon for sure and glad they have multiple locations to choose from!

    Go peep this place!

  2. Solid mac and cheese.

Finally switched from my usual Parisienne order (brie, figs, shitake, rosemary) and tried the eight-style sampler, served bubbling in Lodge cast iron.

Surprisingly, the mongo-sized sampler ($16) was cheaper than a mongo-sized single variety (~$20); maybe the platter was shallower?  Was more impressed with the white cheese varieties including the Alpine (gruyere/bacon) and Napoletana (garlic/basil) than the cheddar varieties.  As always, the crumb/cheese crusts were calorie-packed treats.

La Mancha didn't quite fit – the mac and cheese archetype – not so good.

Strange bus-your-own-table setup.  About half the customers did not.

  3. Not sure what's happened. Walked in a bit after 5pm. Place was deserted actually. Stood in front of the register while a young man fixed the receipt machine no greeting or acknowledgement. Then a young lady with her exposed midriff (she did go into the kitchen too to prep food but that none of my business) she asked if we needed something else. We hadn't placed an order so we told her that. We ordered two different types of mac and two different sizes. Used my card to pay. I was asked if I wanted a receipt and I passed. I didn't want to waste paper. Then my order comes out and I received the wrong size, too much mac, yes that does exist. I guess my tip to anyone dinning there is do not pass up on the receipt, take it. Then we didnt get our drink and went up and asked for it and the two people at the counter were either flirting or just playfully arguing about not giving customers what they need. Anyway I didn't think much of it now with my huge serving of mac I was too tired and hungry to tell her my order was wrong. I couldn't finish it and asked for a box was directed to the tiny boxes which I need to fill two because they refused to give me a regular take out box that people get when they order take out. Long story short I won't be back. I used to love S'mac but I rather get my mac and cheese fix elsewhere. The service is deplorable, I am just thankful I didn't get food poisoning like others have noted.

  4. Bland Mac and cheese.  If I am going to eat an entire plate of fat and carbs then it better be damn good.  And this was not.

  5. while it took an hour for ubereats to deliver, it was a scrumptious lunch. buffalo chicken mac n cheese is always my go-to. why make things complicated right. its so cheesy, creamy and spicy. i love the large pieces of chicken as well. nom nom nom.

  6. Oh my! After Gail on Orpah talked about this places years ago on AN Oprah episode, i've dreamed of going here. And it finally happened last week!! So worth the wait! I'm a Mac-n-cheese lover & this place didn't disappoint! We got the sampler, so glad we did as we got to try 8 different types. We also had a couple Stewart's sodas..well known in NY I guess. Yummy!
I highly recommend coming here & I will be back next time I visit NYC!
Please open a S'MAC in Las Vegas!!!

  7. GOOD MAC N CHEESE.
3rd time having it, 1st time reviewing. Maybe why this review will be pretty bland. I would give it 4* but considering this is my 3rd time here I must give it 5* considering it blew my tastebuds the 1st time I had it.

For $7+ it's totally worth the stars.
The music is also very good here, calm, soothing, classics, on a Friday evening. And it was not jam packed today.

I ate the 4 cheese – Nosh.  Threw some Louisiana hot sauce on it and it was great.
To wash it down, chugged a Black Cherry Cola.

  8. I ordered s'mac through uber eats. I had the gluten free alpine with o bread crumbs and less lactose. It was really good and savory. My only gripe about this place is that it is quite overpriced. I think there are more economical options out there.
