This is a good and solid neighborhood pub.
It can be a little cliquey, but really, in these Brooklyn pubs that have been around for 30 or 40 years, you should never just walk in, and expect to be best buddies with everyone.
Regardless, if you're looking for something good to eat, in a nice small dining room, with good specials, and a nice fireplace, then this is a good choice.
I always like their wraps.
For drinking at the bar, it's a good place to catch some sports, but make sure you get a seat near what game you want to see.
They are stickers between. "This TV is for the Yankees and This TV is for the Mets".
They have the hi-def figured out, so it's nice to watch games here any time.
Cool crowd. Some NYPD and FDNY which is cool for a good blue collar neighborhood like Bay Ridge.
Nice people. Nice place.
A friend recommended Pipin's and of course we had to come. Not to mention that I live around the neighborhood and was surprised that I never went or heard of this spot. My bf got a jack sour and I ended up getting the same thing. I'm not really a whiskey person, but the drink was so good I ended up really enjoying my drink. It was strong, but with the sour mix it was just a perfect balance of flavor.
Once we were sitting down, we were convinced to get their cheddar cheese burger with cheese on the fries. I'm so glad I listened to their recommendation because their burger was delicious! It is served in a panini roll and I have to say that the bread was crunchy and such a perfect combination with their burger. I have to admit that I am not a burger person and am very picky when I eat burgers, but this place definitely does it for me. They give a little bit of fries with it, but the portion is perfect for the meal. I also don't know what type of cheddar cheese they use, it's different from other cheeseburgers, but it just hits the spot.
As far as service, no complaints. Our waitress was very nice and came to our table everything we needed anything. I will definitely be coming back for some more Pipin's.
Shared a fabulous 20 oz ribeye topped with fried onions with my husband. MORE than enough for 2! Also enjoyed a baked potato & string beans. Really well prepared & delicious. A great neighborhood place!
Pipin's cheddar burger is my favourite burger of all time. I literally don't eat burgers otherwise. The cheddar sauce is so outrageously good.
This place is fine as far as local dive bars go. I have no complaints. They even had some cool drink specials. I did not try the food here so I cannot really comment on that. I did like the BK feel.
This bar is a Bay Ridge institution, an Irish bar with one of the best burgers in the borough. My dad used to come watch hockey games here and now I do the same.
My favorite thing to get is the saloon burger, I get it nearly every time I come. Other burgers are good too, very good wings, and a quality steak sandwich as well. I haven't tried much more than that because the burgers are so good.
A little bit of an older crowd in here mist days, a lot of firemen too, but it's a really fun crowd and it is a but of a mix of ages. I always have a great time watching big sporting events here.
This is a temporary location for Pipin's (same employees and menu). It expects to move back to its old location once development of a 7-story apartment building is complete. There is, however, a rumor that this restaurant could stay open even after they go back to the original (meaning Bay Ridge would have 2).
