WOW! This coffee will blow your mind; I appreciate how they respect the ingredient so much. They take such care and execute each cup with the utmost precision, and when you take that first sip you immediately realize that it's so worth it!
I wish there was a WTF Coffee Lab on every corner
This is like a craft coffee bar.
Their "Coffee Lab" is exactly what it sounds like; glass beakers and tubes brewing up some delicious coffee creations. I admit, it's a little pricy for coffee but for what you get, which is perfection, it's totally worth it.
The people working there are pleasant and very knowledgable when it comes to coffee. For a javahead this is a destination to check out. I'm just glad it's conveniently in my neighborhood.
Pros: Coffee is really good. You can really tell that they care about quality, balance, and execution of all their drinks.
Cons: Food. We ordered the avocado toast and the chia bowl. The avocado toast could have benefitted from a little sweetness and the bread wasn't very interesting. As for the chia bowl, while there was a generous amount of chia, there was absolutely no flavor apart from the drizzle of agave or whatever syrup they used.
I'd return for the coffee but not the food.
Delicious food and various choices of coffee is all you need in this spot off the beaten path in Fort Greene. I had the breakfast tacos served with scrambled eggs and chorizo- simple and great. My friend had the polenta egg and chorizo bowl- even tastier! We're coming back to try more menu options like the delectable sammies they offer during lunch.
The owner is very friendly, as is the staff working behind the counter.
An experiment for how much you'll pay for a cup of coffee. A cold brew will run you close to $6. A regular hot black coffee was $4.30.
It was a good cup though and, hey, it's not like I wasn't aware how much it was, so it gets 4 stars nonetheless.
Not sure it's all that different from any other cup of coffee I've had though. Brewklyn Grind at 557 Myrtle is a 10 minute walk and has just as good coffee for half the price.
I stayed in Brooklyn for a night and was walking to pick up a prescription at Walgreens and needed a coffee fix. WTF looked like the best option, so I gave it a try. I believe I tried an Americano, and it was delicious. Expensive, but all coffee shops are these days. Free wifi worked great at the coffee shop. My only complaint was that the coffee wasn't as big as I had hoped. Oh well, still delicious.
I came here for an espresso pick me up and got exactly that. The espresso here is strong, really strong. It gave me superhuman strength. I was able to complete every chore i set out to complete that day.
But the star of the show was the 2 Chainz panini. Holy shhhh, the ingredients were assembled to create this perfect harmony of flavors ever created in a panini. It's like Jesus himself came down from the heavens above and blessed my tongue.
The espresso cost me $3.25 and the panini cost me $11.91. Kinda on the high side for coffee and a sandwich. But I guess if you could afford 4k for an apartment in this area, then $12 for a sandwich may seem like it ain't no thang.
I would definitely return for their panini. They take plastic too so no worries about carrying cash.
the coffee is actually very good and has a unique flavor as opposed to those nasty burnt Starbucks that are on every street corner. With that that, it isn't the cheapest coffee around. I believe all their sizes are 12 oz cups (maybe 16) but they were certainly small. After paying nearly 7 dollars for a tiny cold brew, I don't think I'll be back. That said, if I want a jolt of high end coffee that is brewed in a simplistic manner (I guess back to the basics brewing is now considered the new thing and can demand higher prices), then I would certainly give this place a shot and decide for yourself.
