  1. Flight arrived late, so by the time we started bar-hopping in the neighborhood, there weren't a lot of options, considering it was a Tuesday night. Happened to stumble upon this place on our way back to the hotel, and it was good for another hour or two of beers. Classic dive bar…decent beer selection….lots of interesting characters….late night food menu. What more do you need at 2 AM on a Tuesday night??

  2. Loved this place. Sweetest, most attentive waitress. I had the lamb shepherd's pie, and split it with my girlfriend, and they sent it out in two cute little pots. Washed it down with a Guinness of course. Lovely, solid Irish Pub.

  3. Of all the shitty Irish pubs in midtown, this is my favorite. Never too crowded. 6$ craft beers which is beyond reasonable for the area. Staff is great and all adorably Irish (especially Craig!). Haven't tried food but just saw a picture of their Irish breakfast so will be coming in soon to try it.

  4. Randomly stumbled in here after aimlessly wandering around the area, trying to decide what we wanted for brunch. They serve Irish breakfast here, so we ordered one of those to share and a soup.

The breakfast comes with two eggs, sausage, bacon, black and white sausage, potatoes, and toast. It was a generous plate; we had no problem splitting it between the two of us. It was supposed to come with Irish soda bread but they ran out. The most interesting part of the dish was the black and white sausage, which is basically a blood sausage with fat. It was surprisingly good. Everything else was your typical standard fare.

Nothing really notable, but then again, it's breakfast in an Irish pub, what do you expect? I will say that some of their other menu items sound pretty good (chicken pot pie, shepherd's pie) so I wouldn't say no to coming back. Our server was totally cool too.

  5. NOTE: I visited this establishment in 2006.  This review was copied from a travel site I previously blogged for.

We walked in on a Wednesday and it was quite crowded. Much to my delight, we realized it was karaoke night!  Yay!  I ordered a burger and fries and it was awesome- hot, juicy, flavorful and a good size, too.  The french fries were perfect, as well.  I had a beer with dinner, and my bill with tip was around $15.00.  I also sang a little karaoke- because I felt so comfortable here!  The waitress was super friendly and had an adorable Irish accent.  The 'regulars' were a lot of fun- they sang and danced with me. (But how can you resist dancing to 'Faith' by George Michael?)  The atmosphere was nothing special, kinda dark and typical, but at least clean and friendly.  Highly recommend!

  6. No more karaoke on Wednesdays, which is:

    1) A blessing because the creepers would come every week and scare my colleagues away – namely the girls that were just trying to have a mid-week sing off. I'm looking at you, tambourine guy and Ignition Remix dude.
    2) A curse because now there are no more mid-week sing offs.

    Still my favorite watering hole.

  7. It fit the bill of not spending an arm and a leg in midtown for a decent lunch with a pack of people on the day of the Grand Central Centennial (yes, I'm writing the review 8 months later, shame on me.)

The grilled cheese I got was fantastic. I definitely would love to come back at a more happening hour – aka at night. I love me an Irish bar and this seems like it'd be a good spot at night too!

  8. Lunch on a Friday with a lot of people that was hungry. We ordered Shepherds Pie and Burger. Our drinks came almost immediately, but we had to wait for our food 45 minutes. Our waiter was really nice and efficient with a smile on his face – we appreciate that. We thought the environment was really nice, despite all the tv sets and people who was talking loudly.

Food was really good! Both Shepherds Pie and burger was perfect and we will remember this place next time in New York. They also have a lunch special for a fixed price. Cheap prices for the neighborhood and really nice wine.
