Thanks for opening!! Such a great find. Although there were only 6 reviews on Yelp, decided to check it out as we were walking by on our way to a different restaurant as the menu looked great and reasonable! Ordered the mezze platter of four (see pics) – tirramousalata, spicy feta, tzatZiki, and babaganoush. Each serving was a really substantial size and the platter was served with toasted pita bread…In addition to the fresh bread with oil and vinegar that was served on arrival Could have shared this as light meal to be honest. We also ordered the mussels. WOW. These were awesome (see pic). Perfectly spicy with feta cheese drizzled on top. The mussels themselves were big and meaty. This is a must dish if you like mussels.
For the main course we shared the special of the day- short ribs in a tomato sauce. The meat was so soft it fell apart. The sauce was a little sweet and though I normally don't like sweet it was not overpowering at all. If I hadn't been so full from all of the bread, pita, dips, and mussels, I would have devoured the whole thing.
Couldn't fit in dessert, but the brought out complimentary halva– a classic Mediterranean sweet.
I am so excited this place is in the neighborhood. It's great. No complaints. Great job!!!
This is the 1st time trying Greek in NYC. I don't think it tasted like what I had when I was in Greece.
The steak was a massive portion, can be shared between two ppl. Taste wise it was alright, don't hate it but won't be returning for that either.
The waiting staff was super attentive, and the service was brilliant.
There was a lot of anticipation about this restaurant after the former Italian restaurant closed after many years in business. I had a dinner here on the second night of opening and it was more than I had expected. The service, food, and friendly atmosphere all came together and the prices were extremely reasonable compared to most Greek restaurants.
The menu is simple and easy to navigate. We started with the Greek cheese/meat plate and grilled eggplant appetizer. All cheeses are light and fresh, accompanied by different condiment. The smoky chilled eggplant was very refreshing, a lighter version of traditional baba without mayo. For the main we had seafood orzo (Tuesday special) and stuffed eggplant. I was extremely happy with the rich seafood flavors of the orzo, enough to make me go back on Tuesday just for this dish next week. The stuffed eggplant is a sophisticated version of moussaka. I believe it was listed as a main course, but it's perfect for an appetizer or as an entree should be ordered with a side. For desert we shared a custard cake in filo. Again very refined and refreshing. A generous portion for 2 to share.
Drinks too were excellent. Manhattan was on a fruitier side than usual but fit for the restaurant. I was also extremely happy with the Greek merlot by the glass.
Five starts for the food, service, and the value!
