Yuca Bar & Restaurant
“It was a sweetness to it from the mango but It just melted it my mouth and the coconut rice complimented the dish perfectly.”
“Chicken accompanied with salsa and a guacamole with a little spice was wonderful and amazingly cooked – very soft and not oily at all.”
“The espresso BBQ ribs is a must, you will probably order two and bring one home, sangria is on point, and the mojitos are good as well.”

Platano relleno is amazing. All my friends who dislike plantain convert after a bite. Delicious arepas as well and a great place for happy hour. The queso fundido is also amazing not quite as cheesy as you'd think more salsa and chorizo in it actually, but delicious. Come tuesdays for the half off tapas and feast and drink for 20-25 bucks.
Forever loving this restaurant. Please do yourself a favor and come for their Tuesday happy hour specials. Half off tapas prices from 5-8pm and happy hour drink specials from 1-8pm!! Their tapas are huge and delicious, seriously the only place worth coming to! Espresso ribs and the arepas were great as usual, they haven't ever once messed these two up for me. The full pitcher of sangria served about 5 glasses and the half one about 3 glasses.
I wish our waitress was more informed about the menu and exactly what was offered and what the dishes actually were. We sat in an outside table and it wAs a lovey people watching location.
For starters, we had the guacamole and yuca fries…. I don't suggest the ordering the yuca fries as a starter, because they typically come with most of the meals!
Guacamole was pretty good, but was missing some flavor. Our drinks were cheap but tasted like they were filled with spoonfuls of sugar.
The yuca burger is GREAT! I took the buns off and ate it just the meat and sauce and loved it. My friend got the shrimp salad and could not eat it Bc the shrimp was not fresh and the salad was soaked in dressing.
This is a really fun place to be, but I would stick with tapas and sangria! Great for large groups and a really great dancing night.
This place seriously gets packed, especially on Tuesdays when they have half off tapas. My friends and I (group of 5) managed to get the table at the back just before the restaurant filled up. We got a pitcher of sangria and about 7 or 8 tapas. My favorite was the queso fundido w/ chorizo, hands down. Though it's described as a fondue, it's more like a warm tomatoey chorizo dip – super delicious! For the rest of our tapas we got a variety of taquitos and arepas. They were good but tbh they pretty much all tasted the same to me by the end of the night lol. Making your way to the bathroom can be a bit of a journey when the place is crowded since there are tons of people just standing and drinking.
I wanted to love this place because I LOVE Latin food–yuca, arepas, you name it–I'm all about it.
However, our experience didn't live up to the hype.
A group of 5 went on a Saturday at 12:30 for brunch. The plus side is that we were seated immediately and the staff were friendly.
The problem we had was with the food.
1) the brunch is supposed to come with coffee or tea but both their coffee and tea machines were down. I found it odd that they weren't serving tea either considering tea requires hot water and a tea bag. I guess they couldn't put water on the stove either. But when we were wrapping up our meal, we noticed other people being served coffee. We had to ask about it and then they told us the machine was working–even if we were nearly finished they still should have offered us the coffee because it came with our meal.
2) The brunch comes with one side: either Latin home fries or rice and beans. My friend doesn't like beans so she asked our server if she could not get the beans. The server said no. So then my friend said, well I don't eat beans so could I get the home fries and rice? She said no. My friend asked, can I get two sides of rice? No. Then we said, well maybe the rice and beans are together so you can't get them separated? The server then said, no they are separate. We were confused but let it go and my friend told her she'd get the rice and beans even though she doesn't want the beans. Long story short, her meal comes out and the beans are in a separate container on her plate, which left us super confused as to why she couldn't just NOT get them or just get two sides of rice, which was probably a cheaper option for them anyway.
3) I got the arepas benedictos which was poached eggs, thin slices of smoked salmon on top of sweet corn cakes with a side of home fries. The home fries were too soggy (I want my potatoes crispy!) and had too many sweet potatoes in the mix. I also felt the corn cakes were too thick and sweet. The eggs were cooked perfectly but the smoked salmon was not enough to balance the sweetness of the corn cake.
The food looks really appetizing but I didn't feel the flavors were worthy of a second visit.
Came for Tuesday HH because it's half off apps. Food was solid, it is definitely a drinks and food place.
Really enjoyed the arepa, it was one reasonable size app, that we had cut three ways haha. Yes, also order the tuna tots/hush puppies – crispy goodness. Guac and calamari was ok, standard.
Three people
Four apps
Eight drinks
Total ~100 for the table w tax and tip
Really enjoyed their $7 mojitos, yum. They also do coconut mojitos, which includes some sweet coconut milk – yes, recommending it!!
My husband and I went here last night and had the best time! We were seated on the patio immediately even though we didn't have a reservation. We ordered a mojito and a Caipiranha- both were tasty. We also had shrimp ceviche, calamari, and skirt steaks. Everything was delicious and service was great. We will definitely be going back!
Came here for the first time today and I will absolutely be back. We sat outside which was lovely, the street is perfect for people watching and not too busy to make it uncomfortable to sit outside. We both ordered the shrimp salad, and got a side of the Yuca fries (it's in the name, come on, we had to). The fries were delicious and the sauce was UNREAL. I can't describe how delicious it was. The fries were crispy, hot and salty on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. The bite is perfect as the fries are cut very thick. The sauce is perfect. It's a chopped medley of fresh herbs and spices that gives off a chimichurri vibe. I seriously just need a jar of that so I can spread it on everything that I eat. Our salads were also lovely and definitely not a "throw away" salad like so many restaurants have. The toppings were plentiful, we were not skimped on the shrimp. And the dressing? Absolutely delicious. Somehow it was both very creamy and light and fresh. Again, a jar of that please? I will absolutely be back because I would love to try nearly every item on the menu. If I hadn't had eggs for breakfast, my move would've absolutely been the Yuca Benedict. The drinks also looked yummy, I didn't try one today. Can't wait to come back!
