Halal Food
“The halal carts cooking up delicious Middle Eastern fare are generally the best because they sell lamb gyros, and that's what I was craving the most.”
“I decided to go there after shopping in SoHo and wanted something cheap and delicious this hit the spot.”

Don't pass up this street meat because it's truly the real deal…. yumminess all around… plus super-duper friendly service!
As for their food, it's very tasty!! In fact, their meats are cooked to near perfection–tender and seasoned just right. And, even though, typically, I'm not a big fan of cinnamon in savory foods, the hint of cinnamon in their chicken is really tasty.
I typically get the combo rice & meat platter when I visit this cart; it's chicken & lamb w/ rice and a salad. You cannot go wrong with this combo! Tasty, tasty, tasty! However, don't forget to add plenty of white sauce and hot sauce (it's not that hot); these really add to the overall deliciousness!
The prices at Halal Cart are as you'd expect–cheap! A chicken/rice platter is just $5 and definitely enough to fill you up! The combo runs a dollar more, but, to me, it's worth it.
My credibility might be shot after I write this but in my opinion, this food cart is better than Sammy's Halal.
He has 3 different types of rice. Cinnamon, lentil and yellow. They are all delicious. I usually get a combo platter with rice, chicken, lamb and salad. If you ask him to throw in a few falafel, he obliges, oh and eggplant. Say yes to white and red sauces. Platters come with a free drink all for $5 and under.
If this type of food isn't your style he also serves sausage and peppers and fried fish. He's a one man wonder!
The lamb gyro here is solid but it's no 53rd and 6th Halal, although it's still a great value in Soho. The rice platter comes with plenty of lamb, lettuce, and white sauce, with the option of additional hot sauce, and will cost you $6. Portions are decent but not huge. It's good street food but not really outstanding. Ask for extra sauce since the meat can be a tiny bit on the dry side.
Most disgusting food stand I have ever eaten… I have no idea why there so many good reviews on this thing…I had the Italian sausage and the meat steak..both item smelled and tasted extremely weird…like the meat is bad or something.. It was so bad I had to throw it out in my first bite… Reason I came here because it was located near comic con and I has some what hunger…I just wanted some food in my system…pretty much wasted five bucks on some crap that I couldn't eat… The people that worked on the cart was really nosey too..because there was food carts everywhere they kept on looking around seeing why customers are flocking away and viewing what there competition was doing…now I know why there wasn't as many people on there stand! There food sucks… I would love to give this place zero stars but yelp won't let me 🙁 … Never ever again will I come back to a place that serve such poor and disgusting food!
