Tribeca Taco Truck

“- Carne Asada
– Carne Enchilada
– Spicy Mango Sauce (not that spicy but definitely a blast of mango spiciness to my taste buds.”

“This cute little truckie has some tasty (and cheap) tacos and burritos, definitely should try if you're in Soho (not Tribeca :-p).”

“Spicy mango and picante rojo are great spicy sauces and chipotle crema and avocado crema are both nice milder, if somewhat tasteless, choices.”

  1. I searched TriBeCa for this truck and found it in midtown on 46th near 6th Ave.  I like the range of choices here.  In addition to pollo, carnitas and carne asada this truck serves chorizo and nopales which is nice for a change.

  2. A tasty taco freshly made on the run for only $3!!! It's a great deal.

You pick which type of taco you want and then choose the sauces you want added. Since they make them fresh you can choose your own ingredients.  They had a wide variety of meats and for vegetarian they had mushrooms or tofu.  I am not a big fan of tofu and I was craving protein so I asked for a veggie taco with beans and they were happy to make it. I got mine with avocado crema and salsa verde. Very tasty.

My friend had one with chorizo and another with beef and she loved both of hers. They have a bunch of drink options. I had a bit of trouble finding the exact location of the truck but it was worth the hunt. I will definitely be back the next time I am in this neighborhood.

  3. i happened to stumble upon this truck in the Financial District while biking around a dark lower Manhattan during the post-Hurricane Sandy aftermath. To my delight, I saw they offered numerous vegetarian and vegan options. I went with two tacos: the nopales (cactus) and the chipotle tofu. I was expecting to prefer the tofu but I found it to be a bit soft (extra firm would work much better) and it didn't have enough sauce or flavor for my liking. The cactus, however, was very flavorful and tasty. I asked for the avocado sauce but didn't see or taste it. I did get the salsa verde that I asked for and it was tasty. At $3 each, I was satisfied with this quick snack.

  4. I stopped here for two tacos while on a shopping run. I ordered the al pastor and carne asada. The tacos satiated my hunger, but I've had better tacos. Maybe al pastor in Mexico City spoiled me; regardless, I prefer my tacos to come ready, dressed with whatever sauce and toppings work best. These tacos are three dollars each and a solid three stars.  Nice quick option when in SoHo.

  5. Wowza!  These street tacos were off the chain.  Not sure why it's called Tribeca Taco Truck when it's parked in Soho, but I'm glad it was parked in Soho.  I got the pork and steak taco topped with a couple of sauces.  I don't remember which ones, as I let the chef choose, but the sauces definitely complimented the meat well.  The portion size was great and the price was just right for a street snack.  Yum!

  6. I am glad I was able to track this truck last weekend in Soho. Trust me I was on a lookout for this taco truck for a while now.

OMG, this truck gives a solid competition to my usual taco places in Jackson Heights. There was a long line when I spotted this truck. The menu was pretty exhaustive for a truck. They basically serve tacos, quesadillas and Burritos with different options of meat, vegetable and with different sauces.

I had the chicken quesadillas($5) with spicy mango and avacado sauce and also had the carnita tacos($3). The food was heavenly and the sauce specially the spicy mango was damm tasty. There's something blatantly perfect about the Mexican food which I had from this truck. This will be my go to place for all my taco/quesadilla cravings whenever I spot this truck.

On top of great food, the cooks at this truck were damm friendly and were cracking a lot of jokes to entertain the people standing in the long line. This truck is totally worth checking out.

  7. The biggest knock is the east coast's continual crappy tortilla problem. It's impossible to get a taco on this side of the mississippi that doesn't break in half from sogginess and it's just a pain.

I had two tacos, the chorizo one was ok, the al pastor one wasn't really al pastor in the way I've known it. More like just some stewed chunked pork instead of a crispy concoction of pig.

  8. I was walking by and I figured it's a brightly lit taco truck why not? Well it was a 3 buck taco. They were out of the asada so I got the carnitas with the avocada crema and the salsa verde. I'm pretty certain that I just got the salsa and while it was relatively cheap not super tasty. I think slapping a fancy slap of paint and a trendy neighborhood name doesn't mean that you can skimp on the ingredients. I'll probably never see TTT again and I'll be glad I didn't.
