  1. Came to this Williamsburg Israeli/ Mediterranean spot for lunch.  Very cozy and warm interior and nice outdoor seating weather permitting.  Lunch started with a trio small plate of an herbal hummus and tabbouleh which were very nice.  The cauliflower was in an unappealing tahini sauce.  Ordered the shawarma served on top of a very good hummus.  The menu said chicken and lamb shawarma but, there was no lamb!  It was pretty good but could've used the lamb for extra flavor.  Service was courteous and prices are fair. An ok option to come for lunch or dinner.

  2. Came here for brunch, there was barely any diners when we sat down.

We got a complementary apptizer with pita bread, quinoa, hummus and cailflower. Which I enjoyed very much and it was delicious!

I had ordered the Shawarma which was a heavy dish to me but it was very tasty! I had a good experience dining here.

  3. If all Zizi Limona sold was the crazy baba this place would be a knock down five star spot. Seriously, their take on baba ganoush is one of my favorite things. I have had other things there and it has always been fantastic but the crazy baba is so damn good it makes it hard for me to order anything else.

I live across the street so you can see why this is dangerous. I just lie to myself and say it's perfectly healthy to eat nothing but baba ganoush and pitas. Friendly staff, cute interior. If you are in the hood you need to check it out.

  4. Zizi Limona makes for a great low key date night spot. When you're in the mood to just split a bunch of small Zi's or for flavorful entrees, Zizi Limona is a good place to be. They have their ups and downs but nothing bad enough to turn me away from coming again. Their servers were really friendly, high energy, and accommodating. They made me feel welcomed to stay and never rushed. Here's what we had:

    – Crazy Baba: I love me some baba. I love eggplant, so naturally I've become addicted to babaganoush and have tried so many spins of it that I don't even bother to count. This one was delicious but I wouldn't call it crazy. It was the best of both worlds between hummus and traditional baba. It had the smooth, creamy texture of hummus and the smoky flavor of charred eggplant, blended with a good amount of tahini and dash of basil for the green color. I couldn't taste the feta but I'm assuming that with all the powerful flavors from the charred eggplant and basil, the feta gets a bit lost.

    – Grilled wild salmon: The salmon was cooked perfectly and the skin stayed amazingly crispy all the way to the last bite. The fried cauliflower was seasoned well and not too oily… the grilled artichokes were delicious… and the roasted brussel sprouts were cooked well. I just wish there was more of the vegetable side. I would have preferred something other than cold yogurt on the bottom. It seemed to clash with the just seared fish and fried/grilled vegetables. I also would have preferred some spice to the fish, maybe a little bit of harissa, smoked paprika, ras el hanut, or matbucha… just something to give it a bit more culture than salt and pepper. On the menu, it said it came with chickpea stew but I couldn't find a chickpea on my plate and didn't bother to ask.

    – Cowshuka: This was the winning dish. The steak was grilled perfectly, medium to medium rare. The matbucha sauce and harissa gave it a good kick. The tomato stew was delicious and flavorful. The poached egg… who doesn't like to see runny yoke?? Everything about this dish was superb. The flavors were all distinct but came together well. The pita was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. We used it to get all the leftover sauce at the end.

Overall, Zizi Limona is solid. Compared to Cafe Mogador, it doesn't have the hour and half long wait or loud atmosphere. There are only about 10-15 tables with an open kitchen. The waiters at Zizi are magnificent. We had Quinn and he was on point even after a long Friday night. When I come back, I want to try the chicken tagine and the ribs de berber. I'd still go to Cafe Mogador for the lamb tagine though…

  5. I had a fantastic brunch here with some friends this weekend. I had heard about their famous Shakshuka and decided I needed to give it a try. They have some great brunch prix fixe options, which end up being a much better deal than ordering ala carte. For a very reasonable price you get a mezze appetizer, entree, coffee and brunch cocktail.  We tried the Shakshuka with merguez and without, as well as an order of the french toast, which is pretty unique, not too sweet and really tasty. Everything was delicious, and I really enjoyed the Shakshuka. It's savory and filling, but won't leave you feeling heavy afterward. The restaurant is very cute and the staff was wonderful. We had run into a minor snag when we arrived for our reservation, but our server Nalisa was so accommodating and made sure that we had a great dining experience from there on out. She gave excellent recommendations and was very attentive. I would love to come back for dinner sometime in the near future.

  6. This became my favorite Mediterranean restaurant after two visits. They currently have a burrata special which is worth trying if you're a fan of burrata. The salmon was cooked to perfection and was served with a yummy yogurt sauce.

Came back here for brunch this past weekend and decided to go with the $20 prix fixe, which includes three appetizers, coffee, mimosa, and an entree. I was very upset that we weren't able to try the pomegranate mimosa because they were out. The appetizers include cauliflower, quinoa, and babaghanoush. I decided to share the eggs armada and the french toast with a friend. Eggs Armada were very filling, and served with yummy potatoes with a spicy aioli. The french toast was unbelievable and was served with halva on top. It was the perfect french toast, and had just the right amount of sweetness. Will definitely be back, I'm craving the salmon just from writing this review.

  7. SOOOOO good! WOW! Everything was absolutely perfect.  We split a few mains and had a few appetizers.  Their pita bread was incredibly fresh and delicious.  Service was great as well. Will be back soon!

  8. Worst customer service ever. Empty restaurant and we came with 12 people and they insisted on charging $40 per person. Whether we had been 12 or 2 groups of six, they didn't want our business. Tried to speak to manager and he wouldn't give me time of day. Will NEVER come here again. In this day of social media why would you treat people so poorly?! L for losers of our business. Ciaaoooo.
