Floridian Diner

“As a South Jersey girl who grew up going to huge diners that served huge portions, I haven't found much in Brooklyn to compare.”

“It's very old fashioned in there and there's jukeboxes where you can play a song for 50 cents.”

“I have literally ordered everything from breakfast to a multi-course dinner and have been satisfied every time.”

  1. Service was very good…food was fairly good…prices equal to food. It's a quick fix if your on that side of town. Quick food sit down atmosphere…

  2. This is one of my go to diners in the area for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Prices are reasonable, portions are large and the wait staff are friendly, respectful and knowlegable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone (and I have!) However, I will say that I am partial to their breakfast combos on the weekend. They also make an amazing challah bread french toast!

  3. This place is just gross. Horrible. Not sanitary and did I mention gross.

My dad brought me here for breakfast and till this day I regret not objecting to his suggestion. When you walk into the diner it looks like it has not been renovated since the early 70s. They brought us to our table and I ordered two eggs scrambled with a side of white toast and french fries. How can you mess that up right?

They brought the scrambled eggs over and two bites into it I saw a hair inside of the scrambled eggs. It was disgusting. Things happen when cooking but by the size of the large hair I can guarantee someone was not wearing a hair net. I was disgusted and the waiter apologized and brought out another order, which after that experience really wasn't interested in taking another bite.

The food is standard diner food and "hairy." I don't hold diners to high standards but at least be sanitary. The waiters were non-attentive and left my father without utensils until he had to get up and get his own.

The bathrooms….. The bathrooms are beyond DISGUSTING. It smells so so bad in there and I think they know that so what do they do? They place four glade things hanging from the top of the two stalls, it is just disgusting. Not only does the bathroom need renovation but it needs help. The restaurant itself has a back room with a stench that is hard to describe so I asked to be seated at a different section.

The only thing that wasn't bad was the cranberry juice. Save your stomach and save your nose. Do not eat at this diner unless there is no other last resort even then I rather be hungry than eat here.

Its a shame because my dad used to bring me here when I was little but I think the owner just let the place go and the food quality as well as the restaurant is severely suffering. Its a shame.

Will not return to this Diner EVER. Go to Del Rio or George's Luncheonette, or any other classic diner in Brooklyn.

  4. I'm sorry they serve alcohol?? Oh Yay I'm a fan -4 stars

Met up with some friends here just to catch up, we weren't too hungry just wanted to munch on something. Since we decided Florida was too far, this diner was the closest thing to it.

The decor?? Wow VERY Florida, retirement-at-80-years-old-senior-citizen-lost-my-dentures-wheres-my-wheelchair-looking spot Colorful, and very outdated. Def not a South Beach Florida vibe. More of an old school Orlando

Our Trinidadian waitress was funny, down-to-earth, great service. She kept it real, a little too real though when she told us the manager placed all her "people" (aka the blacks) in one section and give her these patrons, while the white waitress gets her own section. After she mentioned it we did notice all us colored folk in one section: hello segregation Alabama 1961.

-Drinks were the highlight of this spot, $7 for the strongest rum punch I've ever had–just rum that packed a full punch..no actual taste of punch..well done bartender.

-Food average..burger deluxe was good, grilled cheese was grilled cheese and the fries were average

I'm coming back to pre game before going out–beats city watered-down drink prices. If I eat here I'll keep it basic with a burger and fries.

  5. The conversation with the waitress was better than the drink.  Although they do have good pancakes.

  6. Good diner to have around the neighborhood. The food is good quality, just as long as you stick with what you know. I had no issues with table service. For the couple times I've been there, the service was decent, friendly wait staff. It's really hit or miss with the service, depends on the waiter you get. Food is consistent. The chairs could use a makeover though. I think it deserves a little more than 2.5 stars. If you're skeptical, it's certainly worth checking out for yourself.

  7. The floridan has been around since Incan ever remember. It's a convenient place to go and just grab a quick breakfast, or after a night out. They're open 24 hours, so after a night of drinking, this is the easiest place to end up.

I came here this morning around 11 for a late breakfast with my dad. The waitress came over to our table and we ordered right away since we knew what we wanted. We both got eggs, and a potato. Simple right ? We waited 40 minutes for our food. I don't know if the waitress didn't put it in or what happened because she didn't come over to us and tell us. Other tables were getting their food and we were just waiting.

I wanted fruit on the side but she said I couldn't substitute the potatoes/homefries, so I had to get them and she didn't even bring out the fruit.

The food isn't good, but it's not terrible. This isn't a place that I would choose to go to again

  8. I was in the mood for diner food.  This started well with the cole slaw plate with beets and chickpeas.   The pea soup that followed was thick- too thick and had no depth of flavor.  The croutons were even boring.  Next came a pile of turkey covered in wallpaper paste.  That's what it looked like.   Pasty and dull.  The turkey wasn't bad.  The stuffing was uninteresting.   My service wasn't great either.  No return visit ever!
