Only there in the evenings, this taco truck hits the spot. Fresh and flavorful food for an amazing price, this gem is one of Astoria's best kept secrets.
The service is quick and friendly and all their choices are very flavorful. I'm a big fan of the lengua (tongue) as they make it very tender here. The fresh sliced radishes make a big difference and is a topping I normally don't see that much. The tacos are also topped with cilantro, onions, wedges of lime, spicy red/green sauce, and sour cream, all wrapped in two soft steamed tortillas. – A thing of beauty!
The rice and beans side and in the platters are also great with their perfectly fluffy rice and stewed beans.
They also take credit cards as well so no worries if you forget to bring cash.
Great pizza has and will always be my #1 late-night (drunken) option but if I had to choose another, it's the food made out of this truck. The tacos are downright terrific (and cheap).
The platter is also good if you're trying to watch your calorie count. Chicken platter isn't a terrible post-workout meal.
YUP. They get the job done. Fair prices and fresh ingredients, not too much of a wait. Their tacos have prevented many a hangover and for that I am thankful. I do wish they would up their lettuce & tomato game, but sauces are on point & portions are generous.
No real spot to sit except for the benches across the street. Escape the ire of your fellow public transit passengers and take a little stroll down Ditmars while you nosh.
They have a brick-and-morter in East Elmhurst that's worth a visit if you're in the area.
If you want authentic Mexican fare, hunt this truck down! I have only ordered their tacos – and at $3 a pop they're a steal. The boys don't skimp on the fillings either – lots of meat, cilantro, lime and the works. They even give you an extra 'layer' of tortilla so the taco doesn't break when you pick it up.
2 tacos are filling and enough for a meal – can't complain for $6!
I thought my order was simple enough….beef burrito after he told me no spicy chicken. Chicken Quesadilla and chicken & spicy pork tacos.
They just gave beef burrito and beef quesadilla and 2 pork tacos.
Everything was greasy and gross. The flavors were good i guess….on food that i only half ordered.
Cool. Paid 20 bucks in the rain for that. Should have went to the Peruvian place up the block instead.
This is a food truck that my sister recommended as she lives around here. This food truck is located in front of CVS. On a corner of a really busy street, this food truck is delicious. To my surprise, you order first, they make it, then you pay for it.
Usually you pay then get your food. On their menu, it shows 3 tacos for $9.00 but you could get just one simple taco.
I ordered a chorizo taco with everything and extra lettuce and tomatoes. It was so good!!!! It comes with two tortillas. Each bite had meat and everything tasted FRESH.
If I ever pass by there again, I will def pick up another taco! Delicious!!!
This is a great little taco truck. The prepare the food super fast and the prices are on point. I recommend the chicken tostada's. They are crunchy and delicious. The vegetables are fresh, the toppings are tasty and the meat is flavorful. They add black beans, mmm yum and for toppings they add crema, cheese, and a dash of mild hot sauce.
I was just passing through for a quick bit so I only tried the tostada's but based on tasting those I will likely come back and try some tacos if I am in the area.
The fact that I've got this taco truck a block away from me is both a blessing and a curse. I've yet to try all of the tacos but so far my favorite is the one with tinga de pollo (spicy chicken). The chorizo taco comes in a close second. Also recommend the platillo with al pastor (roasted pork), but remember to ask for less cilantro if you're not a fan – there's plenty of that in the plate.
Service is quick, I've yet to wait more than 5 minutes for my food. They say they open at 6pm now but not right on the dot. To be safe I would go around 6:30.
