  1. So I posted this review under a gyro location that comes up on yelp for this same spot but then just found this page as well, so going to repost my review bc this gyro is just that good!

This little shack, randomly placed in a huge parking lot strip  mall with the likes of Wendys, Pathmark, a deli, a bank, McDonalds, pizza spot, a diner etc really deserves more recongnition, maybe a spot light on it to help it stand out in the dark! With not too many halal options in College Point, this rare gyro spot was a great find!

    1. Easy to get to, dont have to pull over on the side of a busy street, can park-go in place your order-wait in your car or grocery shop until your order is cooked and prepared fresh!
    2. Decent to large portions, one mixed platter each for my wife and i and a lamb gyro roll on the side, is an entirely satisfying dinner that wont break the bank.
    3. The white sauce and hot sauce and really, really good.
    4. The meat doesn't take rubbery, chewy, bland or make you question what you are eating.  The lamb and chicken are seasoned well, flavored decently,  and not over or under cooked
    5. Depending on which guy is behind the counter, you may get a bit or more less of everything (rice, meat salad, sauce) so just be sure to state how you want your platter
    6. Haven't had a bad experience here in over a year, definately makes our top favorite three gyro spots in Queens

  2. Best Halal in Flushing

This is the best kept secret that only local Flushing-ites know about. I've noticed the joint for more than a decade and heard good things about them for quite a while. I finally decided to try it on a special day where I was especially hungover right after I inhaled a slice of Amores.

The halal food stand is located in the Pathmark shopping center. Despite the unappetizing surroundings its actually very neat and clean inside. They offer all the standard fare from a regular halal cart and they even have tilapia on the menu. I ordered a chicken and rice platter. Of course I couldn't wait to take it home, so I started chowing down in the car.

The large chunks of chicken had a smoky flavor with crispy edges as if it was made in a tandoor oven. The rice was perfectly cooked and didn't have an excess pool of oil which may often be seen in an average halal platter.

The yogurt sauce is far above the average white sauce. This Mediterranean restaurant quality yogurt sauce actually tastes like yogurt and has a generous amount of dill flavor. The fresh salad really brings out the flavor in the yogurt sauce. I normally don't ask for extra white sauce, but I'd definitely ask for extra white sauce here.

The hot sauce is almost as spicy as the sauce from the "Halal Guys." I liked that the hot sauce was more spicy than salty.

The ingredients are fresh, the flavors are spot on and its not overly greasy.
I'm definitely a fan, and a new loyal custy. The only thing I regret is not coming here sooner.

  3. This is definitely a hidden gem. Had a rice platter with chicken and lamb and it was epic. My brother was raving about this place and we went way out of our way to get it. I can see why. Awesome stuff, super fresh, fairly priced.
