  1. A true pizza institution, storied in tenior located just off the busy intersection of Fresh Pond Road and Metropolitan Ave.
The buzz inside immediatly suggests great pizza and having not been here since high school I decided on two regular slices and a Sicilian for nostalgias and hungers sake.

Some reviews have called this pizza emporium one of the best in Queens and I would be hard pressed to argue that point. The perfect balance of cheese and a refined light tomato sauce, Italian food wether at a posh restaurant or a pizza joint is all about balancing ingredients.

Behind the counter the employees have to be the most active of any I've seen to date. Buzzing around like bees in a hive, heating and serving slices from two huge ovens to their loyal public.

  2. Rosa's pizza has been the number one pizza place for most people in the area. The food is great and it is big enough to allow many patrons at once to sit and enjoy. If you want a delicious ravioli or chicken parmesan dish, this is the place to to! Not to mention to the Sicilian slices are the best! To top it off, the prices are really reasonable considering the portion sizes.

  3. Big, clean, slice and whole pie family-friendly pizzeria. This is a bit further in in Ridgewood- you're best to get off Metro Av stop than Fresh Pond Road.  But, it's worth the travel. Bf and I split the Grandma Pie; it's as good as they say- succulent, deep dish crust with lots of deep and flavorful tomato sauce.  Simple but delish.  I really enjoyed the starch on starch ravioli pie which was cheesy ravioli (filled with ricotta and herbs) on a cheesy thin (but not too thin) crust.  I sort of expected more out of the crust, and more out of the sauce…from my understanding, it was supposed to be a vodka sauce but I just sort of tasted cheese (barely sauce at all). Still, the toppings are creative and I love the homey feel to it.

All in all, a 3.5-4 star. $7 for both of us.

  4. Ive been here a few times when a friend of mine worked in the vicinity.  Its not a bad place and there are lots of choices for pizza.. but the ambiance is a little divey for a pizza place… not that pizza places should equate wonderfulness… but maybe its the lighting.. there is a sadness to me.  But the pizza was good!

  5. This is one of my all time favorite pizza spots by far…

They have a large selection and everything is always fresh.  If you don't see what your looking for they can make it for you…  My favorite is the chicken ceasar salad slice, yum.

There hours are great.  They stay open late and manage to keep everything fresh, must be because they are so busy.  The service is awesome here as well…

They lose a star because the parking situation is tough.  Located on a busy street, the street parking is very limited and competitive.  They do have a small parking lot around back (that most don't know about because you can barely see the sign), however the walk from the parking lot to the entrance is so long that I hardly every use the parking lot.

I would definitely recommend this place to others.

    Happy Yelping 🙂

  6. I do not understand the reviews.
I have put good faith in Italian fare at pizzerias as the majority i have been to never disappoint.
    This place- disappointed tremendously.
The occasion was a sad one. My grandmother's funeral. With a small army of 16 family members looking for a quick and tasty meal on a Sunday evening, our options were limited and we found this place thanks to the Yelp app and the 4 out 5 stars brought us here.
    Huge mistake.
The place was busy which led us to believe the food was good.
Why else would anyone waste their time here?
We had several tables. Several salads were ordered. My caesar salad had bitter romaine lettuce. And the ends of the head.
The fried calamari tasted like rubber bands though the dipping sauce was decent.
The antipasto salad consisted of once- frozen vegetables.
The pizza pie we ordered had the strangest texture to the crust- like cardboard.
The baked ziti with ricotta was a plate of ziti with sauce, a spoon of ricotta and a handful of mozz placed under a broiler. Nothing "baked" about it.
The penne alla vodka was bland.
They also forgot several of our orders. making us late returning to the funeral.

the warm bread they served us after we ordered was great. The orange cream soda was good too.

This place disappointed. If you love this place, you probably don't have an Italian grandmother.

  7. The pizza is great! I come here since they are open late. For the price they serve really good pizza.. I'm more of a brick oven fan but this in Queens is as good as it gets.

They have a huge eating area, all the pizza is fresh especially since they have a lot of customers coming in.

Good pizza and it's very clean. All my friends get there pizza from her as well.

  8. We moved from Maspeth to Long Island over 20 years ago and my family and I still drive back to this Rosa's location (the best of all of them) because their Sicilian pizza is incredible.  All of their many varieties of pizza are so good and their pasta dishes and calzones are tasty as well.  You can't go wrong with Rosa's!
