  1. My mom was treating and wanted to try a new place. In Kearny there is no shortage of Peruvian restaurants. There is literally one right next door to this place. First thing that gets you is that funky odor on the way in. Huge flag. Shoulda turned around right there. Service was subpar. When you have to ask for a glass of water you can tell it's going to go downhill. First they brought out the Jalea. Calamari was clearly frozen and out of a bag. Super rubbery and chewy. The fish was the only fresh thing in it. Ceviche was blah. Not fresh at all. Not to mention it was served last. Ceviche is considered and appetizer. How is it that the raw dish took longest to prepare? The tallarines saltados (almost a Peruvian lo mein) was the best dish. This is where they get 2 stars instead of 1. Bad service and mediocre food. That's this place in a nutshell. Needless to say I won't EVER be returning here. I'm sure in 6 months they will have new ownership and a new name. They have had like 4 Peruvian places here. All failed. I don't see this being the game changer. Enter at your own risk and ENJOY????

  2. I was really disappointed by this place. I expected a delicious meal and great service and got neither. When we walked in we noticed it wasn't very busy but the waitress already seemed very overwhelmed. She asked us to wait for her to clean the table but after waiting for a while we decided to sit down while we waited. When she came back she made a remark about asking us to wait before sitting. Everything we asked wether it was a question or for utensils it was a long wait.

We ordered a ceviche norteño which was a regular size dish but the fish tasted strange to me so I only had a bite. We ordered a large jalea which is deep fried seafood. The jalea was tasty and fried to a golden crunch. The problem I had with this dish was that it's supposed to be served with lemons and alot of salsa criolla (red onion and lemon mixture) but our dish barely had any. We also ordered huevera which is deep fried fish eggs. This dish was not good at all we barely touched it. The biggest disappointment of the night was my tallarines verdes, what a waste of money! Yes the steak that came with it was huge and cooked well and had good seasoning but tallarin verde it was not! The green pesto sauce was way off it had absolutely no basil which is a main ingredient in the dish and gives it the distinct flavor. Also instead of queso fresco it tasted like they used either cream cheese or heavy cream. My friend ordered tallarines saltados and she said they were good.

Aside of the food not being good the service was horrible. It was the longest meal of life! We arrived at 1:40pm and didn't leave until 4:48pm! Our waitress took forever for everything. I literally got anxiety over how long we were waiting for everything. Getting our check alone took 30 minutes.

I would not come back to this place. Especially with so many other Peruvian restaurants nearby. It was literally a waste of money because their food is not cheap and a waste of time I will never get back. They also don't have quarters in the restaurant which you need in order to park in the street.
