  1. I came here with a friend to get a slice of pizza. I really wanted white pizza, so I got a slice of the white pizza with no toppings. It was just okay, nothing extraordinary. The pizza looked a bit bland, maybe it wasn't the cheese I was expecting. I felt like the pizza lacked a bit of pizzaz (ha) and flavor. I would have wanted it to taste richer and/or saltier.

Anyway, very classic NY pizza experience though, with the decor and the seating.

  2. Very tasty pizza by the slice, and the guys there are friendly helpful too. The five stars are for its category… It's hardly barboncino or keste but then you can't eat for $3 in either of those!

  3. Ordered baked ziti from here (because the prices of their lunch specials are clutch).  It was okay.  I've definitely had better baked ziti, but it was still good.  A+ garlic knots though and they have a big pizza selection that's always hot and fresh when you're there.

  4. After leaving Raine's Law Room, we need some pizza! Yelped and this place came up a block away. Got a slice of eggplant pizza. The pizza crust was thinner and overall the slice was a bit bland. But since we've been drinking, it still tasted pretty good.

  5. This place is run by two very nice guys and it is probably the most popular pizza place in the neighborhood. People keep coming back so they must be doing something right.

But I personally think the quality of the pizzas are poor or at best average. There is nothing unique or special about them, the ingredients are low grade white flower and old or canned veggies, and the ambiance is predictably dull.

I don't blame them for opening a typical pizza place. But I wish it were more impressive.

  6. All kinds of pizza pizza and a few pre made salads.

Had a slice of the thin crust pepperoni. The meat, cheese, and dough was all on point and to my liking.

They also have daily specials like pasta, lasagna, baked ziti, manicotti, stuffed shells, and chicken parigiana.

  7. Good slice. Very solid. Not the best, but good enough that I would return if I was in the area and wanted pizza.

  8. I've been back about 30x since my last review. J's margarita pepperoni pie is simply the best. The dough – water, flour, oil and salt – you can taste the quality, is crisp and chewy. The ingredients are always fresh. They use just the right amount of cheese. Not stingy or overwhelming. The sauce has a nice tang to it without being sweet. It truly is a perfectly balanced pizza creation.

The same people are there day in and day out. When I call for delivery one of the guys speaks rough, heavily accented English. I used to get a little frustrated, but now all I have to say is 'margarita pepperoni' and he recognizes me. Sometimes the owner will deliver himself.

Really nice guys, great quality pizza. I understand now how they can afford a large corner lot surrounded by lots of fancy places. It's not because they are cheap or they own the building, they are just that good.
