This place makes a pretty serviceable pizza but is nothing special. Unfortunately, there actually are not too many quick take out pizza places in the area.
The pizza here is generally a little more thin then I would have liked. The taste of the pizza is pretty good but there is nothing here that is going to have you coming back. Try Front street pizza around the corner for faster service, more seating, and more pizza variety.
Fascati is one of the first places I stopped into when I moved to Brooklyn Heights. And it was a pretty tasty introduction to the neighborhood!
The cheese slice at Fascati gives you exactly what you want out of a NY slice — nothing more, nothing less. Is it super memorable pizza? No, but that's ok. Because at the end of the day when I'm craving a greasy bite of childhood, Fascati does the trick.
This little establishment does not look like much from the outside, but it's served me the best pizza I have had in a while. I love that it's only a few minutes away. They are like the opposite of Grimaldi's- very under the radar, no long waits but excellent pizza, made by people who have been doing it for years. I should also add I'm not a huge pizza fan in general, Il'l eat it, but it's nothing I look forward too, Fascati however is something to look forward too.
One of the best slice places, especially when it's a fresh one. Go for the plain since they sometimes take the topping request literally. I once got a plain slice with a spoonful of green peppers on it rather than a slice of green pepper pizza.
It's what a decent New York slice should always be. It's not fantastic, but it is so consistent and satisfying. There are so many sub par slices to be had… they really should be praised for the constancy of quality. If I'm in the neighborhood, I'm definitely getting Fascati's.
Terrible pizza. Only would come here as a last resort. I overheard a local pedestrian one time exclaiming this place was the best pizza in Brooklyn….definitely not.
Mini pan pizza, repeat- mini pan pizza. Three little words & you will die and go to pizza heaven. Where do I begin. Fascatti's- good neighborhood slice joint. Old style plastic booths. A little hot in warmer weather. They have a great system here. The workers- mostly Mexican make the pizza and the owners watch the pies. They use a good, fresh dough here so all slices are "Brooklyn good."
The mini pan pizza is $7 and made to order. It takes fifteen minutes. You know who makes it and watches it till it's done. It comes out beautiful- deep dish- that is what this is, made just for you. The sauce is a little sweet, the cheese is super fresh and oozing. Enough for 2- this is a formidable pizza and one of the best old school pizzas, I have ever eaten. I just can't get a regular slice after this. Bingo!
I usually hate thin crust pizza, but they do it well. It's a small place with little seating. People generally just take out. It's only $2.50 (plain cheese) / $3.25 (white ricotta) per slice and pretty speedy turnaround to get food. Perfect size for folding and nomming. I'd say go for two slices if you're hungry; one if you are not super hungry.
When you add toppings, they just put it on a cheese pizza and reheat. So, get either the white ricotta or the plain cheese.
