My favorite pizza place ever! From the grandma slice, to the Sicilian slice, to the garlic knots this place knows how to make pizza and make it fresh right there. You're greeted with a warm welcome, and did I mention try the rice ball! Ah, go pizza lovers go!
Came her with a dire need to get some grub quick. I came across this small, corner pizzeria with a definite Italian inspiration, I could tell by the fresh canoles they offer for dessert.
I tried a few things ( I was with the family), cheese pizza, chicken roll, and the pinwheel and all were in agreement with my taste buds. Next time I am in the Ozone Park area….Romeo and I will get reacquainted.
Gigantic delicious slices that are absolutely mouth watering! My favorite is the grandma, chicken and tomato, and buffalo slice. You gotta eat the slice when it's still hott because as soon as it gets cold it's never as good anymore. I learned that from days when I would buy my pizza and trek it all the way home.
Romeo's is a strange, triangular shaped pizzeria on the way to Far Rockaway. Walking inside, you definitely see that they're serious about their food. All of the pizza looked like it had been freshly made. Italian guy running the counter. A lot of different pizza options along with rice balls and cannoli. The place smelled great! While I don't think I got the best they have to offer, they definitely make a good slice.
I stuck to my guns and just got a regular slice, which may have been a mistake. It was definitely good with a crisp, lightly charred crust and leopard spotting underneath. That degree of char is VERY rare in a typical slice shop. It was a bit light on the sauce, but the cheese was fresh if a bit heavily applied. Sounds like reading the other reviews, I may have missed out on the grandma slice which seems to be the move here. I don't get out here often, but if I do this is where I'm coming in lieu of New Park.
The Neapolitan pie is good.. Not a fancy gourmet style pie, or place popping up everywhere, but an old school neighborhood pizzeria doing it the way it's been done for years.. One thing that really stood out, to me, was the crust was crunchy, and actually cracked when I folded a slice, when I got home to enjoy it.. Pizza taken home Is usually steamed soft from the hot pie dropped in a box. Not here, it was just like I was standing in the shop enjoying a slice
The penne ala vodka and grilled chicken was pretty good as well.. Lots of meat, and tasted great.
Romeo's Pizzeria is a pretty great spot in Ozone Park. We were working from my aunt's house and we wanted a quick lunch we could take back to hers. In addition to pizza slices, they also offer a wide variety of dishes including pasta, salads, sandwiches, risotto balls, antipasto, etc. Everything looked really good!
We got two white slices, a cheese slice, and a potato croquette. Service was quick and everything was warmed up in the pizza oven. It was past lunch time, but before dinner, so unfortunately we didn't get hot out of the oven pizza slices, but our slices were still pretty good.
The white slice was pretty heavy though. It wasn't a thin NY slice. It was thicker and had a LOT of cheese on it. I mean, don't get me wrong, it was good, but I think I like a thinner, foldable white slice. The cheese slice was solid though.
The potato croquette was amazing though! Yum! I've never had a tastier croquette! The filling was amazing! I will definitely be back for another croquette!
I'm definitely a fan of Romeo's. They aren't my go to pizza place, but they definitely make great pizza and they have a wide variety of things on their menu. When I want a change of pace I hit up Romeo's for their regular slice or grandma slice. I noticed the grandma slice is different than when I first had it. Before it was like a square slice with a circle of marinara and garlic directly in the middle. The new grandma slice has garlic and tomato throughout. It's different but just as good as the old one.
Romeo's also makes great garlic knots and rolls like chicken rolls and eggplant rolls. My only complaint is the fettuccine alfredo. It was a bit on the bland side and watery. Adding the parmesan that they sent helped and also fresh cracked black pepper, but it definitely lacked something. This is a shame because alfredo sauce isn't that difficult to make.
Delivery is always fast and service is always friendly. Highly recommended just probably stay away from the pasta.
At most every first time I stop into a new pizza parlor, my order will begin with– and can potentially end with– a Regular slice & a Sicilian slice.
Once again, my thoughts were split and mixed, in that the Regular didn't pique my taste interest at all, the Sicilian started out well enough but stalled at halftime. (The halfway point through the slice).
The crust rocks the house and any ingredient would and should feel proud to sit a top the airy, crusty beautifully prepared and baked unleavened yeast.
Sadly, I missed the lure of other reviewer's draw to what's on top. The sauce seemed canned with some additional efforts, the cheese was of average quality. Which can only allow me to award four stars.
