I purchased a Groupon deal to give this place a try, food looked good I figured why not check it out.
Stopped by during the week no problems being seated.
Once seated we asked to take a look at the wine list they hand u an iPad Lolll kinda cool technology is certainly taking over.
We decide to go with a Pinot Grigio , Always a good choice for me great wine.
They start u off with a nice bread basket & olive oil , good olive oil not a bad start.
Appetizers we tried the Mista Organica salad this is a mixed greens w lemon & olive oil nice presentation with this salad not bad good sauce a nice light option.
Next the Quattro Formaggio Pizza wow … This was delicious 4 types of cheese with added truffle oil on a nice thin crust really good pizza.
On the main dishes I had the Linguine Nerve homemade black linguine in a spicy tomato sauce with shrimp … Amazing !! Good tasting sauce with a decent amount of shrimp.
My company had the Linguine alla Vongole this was clams in a white wine sauce , nice tasting dish as well.
As for the restaurant itself it is located in the Hilton Garden Inn nice space , area is small with simple yet appealing decor.
Service was good although a bit slow this wasn't too big of a deal for us only because we were in no rush.
Aside from having the deal prices seem decent in comparison I'd say about average for the area.
This deal was a good catch , everything we had was very good we enjoyed our meal.
Just came here for dessert after dinner but it's a cute little restaurant located inside of the Hilton Garden Inn Times Square. The service was okay but they had a good selection of desserts & it was very good! A little pricey… But a good place for a quick dessert or even a meal. I haven't tried their main dishes, but their pastas look delicious!
First of all the service was amazing! Great Italian food. What a surprise to find such a great Italian restaurant in a hotel in Times Square New York.
I had the breaded calamari as an appetizer and then the fruition de mare dish as a main course. My wife had the muscles as in appetizer and loved it!
I'd come back again in a heartbeat. People really cared about creating a great value!
Stopped in to this lively place for a drink after a couple other bars were found to be unavailable for the evening and overall, I'd say this a solid option for either happy hour or late night socializing. We each picked a drink off of the cocktail menu and, while I can't remember the names of either of them, both turned out to be really good and it seemed like their alcohol selection was extensive enough to meet just about any request. The bar area is perfectly positioned for mixing, mingling, people watching and checking out amazing views of the phenomenon outside that is Times Square and the decor is a nice mix of elegance and comfort. I can definitely see this place as both a hub for downtown locals to socialize as well as a place for tourists and travelers to unwind and get to know the city and it's people a little bit better.
Bar/Prices: I came in during my stay and ordered an extra dirty martini however it was not dirty so asked for more olive juice and it still tasted like a lot more vodka than dirty. I get prices in NY are high but $15 for martinis are a bit higher than the norm.
Food: The morning after I had an interview and coming down for lunch at the hotel was convenient plus with all the good reviews, I thought I may give it a chance.
Unfortunately they do not offer the pasta with truffle sauce for lunch so got the shrimp with black linguine and spicy sauce instead. What I got did not all all resemble everyone else's picture. I had a lot of very small shrimp and it very well may have been fresh but frozen baby shrimp tastes exactly the same. Also, the sauce was very bland, no spice at all. I asked the waitress and she said it may be because a lot of people don't like spice but- there was not one hint of it in the dish. I was also not offered bread with my meal and I had seen others around me offered.
The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because I should have asked about pricing before hand before ordering the martini and should have asked the waitress about the reason for the disconnect in dishes but since I was in a rush to get to my interview I did not want to spend more time than I needed to.
Truffle cream pasta and the linguine w clams were amazing! The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente which is what I like. The clams and conch were fresh and the sauce was not very creamy which is what I prefer. Service was great!
This is a fancy Italian meal experience right on Times Square. I went to this place after buying a coupon from Group on which had two appetizers and two entrees for two people. We had a bruschetta and a margarita Pizza for appetizer and butternut squash Ravioli & Whole wheat Spaghetti in Primavera sauce as entrees. The food was toasty n warm. N above all the nicely done ambiance made it a perfect Sunday brunch time..
The moment when you purchase a Groupon and realize that you made a great purchase.
Groupon consisted of two apps, two entrees for $41.
The place itself is beatiful..from decor, the ordering off of Ipad menus, the professionalism and friendliness of the waitstaff, the presentation of the meals, etc.. already contributing to this 5 star review.
The real test was the food..which exceeded my expectations.
Complimentary bread with olive oil..you can't really mess that up so I won't review that..
Apps averaging $20 plus..didn't disappoint. Fried calamari (other option was non-fred) was golden, crispy, and was complimented well with the sauce. The sausages were rich with flavor from the peppers and whatever else spices on top of them. Well done.
Pasta entrees were only options for the groupons..and I was ok with that.
Got the penne ala vodka with salmon..the sauce..the pasta and the sauce all blew minds.
My friend for the penne ala vodka other option and also reported the same greatness.
At the end, no bill was presented because it was a Groupon..which was weird because usually a bill presented showing how much the meal would have been so I can know how to tip. We just tipped blindly without knowing the value of the meal..but my guestimate was well over $100 and that's without a beverage..we stuck with water.
I will come back without a Groupon!
