Meh.
This review is for delivery. The Sofia Loren pizza had a great flavor, but it was cold and the crust was soggy by the time it got to us. Kind of disappointing, but it was a Saturday night. I'd like to try again, will probably go in-house next time though.
Just WOW. This place was freaking delicious. Party of 8 on a Friday night. Place was empty when we came and it scared me a bit, but the food shut me right up. For appetizers, we split an order of stuffed mushrooms (special of day), grilled calamari, and a large sofia loren pie. The stuffed mushrooms (4 pieces) were stuffed with scallops and calamari and some other goodies I couldn't distinguish, but it doesn't matter! I wish they were bigger! The grilled calamari (5 pieces) comes with an awesome lemon parsley garlic sauce that I kept dipping into. And of course the famous sofia loren pie…kinda like an awesome "pizza cracker," as my friend called it. The big chunks of cheese were the best part. For an entree, I ordered the chicken marsala, which comes with pasta in tomato sauce. It wasn't overly breaded (+++) and just delicious. Everyone in my party seemed to really enjoy their dishes as well. Service wise, big A+. Waitresses kept checking on us, refilling our water frequently. For a party of 8 and only 2 chefs, they got our dishes out pretty fast. Was interesting to see that they tenderized each piece of chicken as the order came up. Chef even came by to ask us how the food was. Why can't I have a place like this closer to home???
Hands down my favorite pizza in NYC. Ordered the Sophia Loren with jalapeños and pepperoni and it was delicious. spicy, thin crust, mozzarella and pepperoni? Sign me up. HIGHLY recommend this pizza.
Last time I stopped in here was for a take out lasagna, and they did not disappoint! Tonight I stopped in for dinner & had the lemon francaise chicken which came with penne & marinara on the side…I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to this dish because it's one of my favourites..they did not disappoint. The sauce was perfect, the portion was huge, the chicken was delicious and the marinara was on point.
Update:
Visited again today and discovered their beautiful backyard, perfect for this weather!
This was the second place of my pizza tour last week. The pizza here was also really good, my only complaint is there could have been more sauce.
The slice was straight up NY style and cooked perfectly. For some reason this is getting harder and harder to find.
Again, this review is based off of delivery. But it was decent. The delivery time was reasonable, the grandma pie was awesome, the mozzie sticks and wings were decent, the price was right, and they delivered decently late. I'll hit them up again!
The grandma pie changed my life. Ask for extra sauce (it's very little to begin with, so extra brings you to normal).
They drizzle the pie with garlic olive oil. One of the top 5 pizzas I've ever had.
