Free glass of wine with check in! Had to start with that. And even though it says you get a red, they will happily get you a white.
You won't go wrong with the authentic italian restaurant among among in the aurthur ave sector. And you may find, easier availability here without sacrificing quality of food or service.
Shared 3 mains for dinner and all were solid.
Dinner starts with complimentary ?italian bread. Nothing special, not warm, but fresh. The key is to maximize the bread's potential by dipping in ALL THE SAUCES.
Chicken parm pasta: the chicken was surprisingly good. Well seasoned and thin cutlet.
Linguini in clam sauce: that sauce. Best sauce of the night but the best part was soaking it up with the complimentary bread.
Short ribs: best of the three dishes. Tender, savory, perfection.
OVERALL: a must try on arthur ave.
I've come here twice and had great dinner experiences. Definitely get a reservation, though, because this spot is super popular.
I think the gnocchi is my favorite here. The cheese one is a little too cheesy for me, but the sausage with tomatoes has a nice balance and texture. My most recent visit, I got the cavatelli and short rib special ($22), which included an ample share of tender meat and fresh pasta.
Even their salads are on point and a great way to start a meal. The House, Mediterranean, and Gorgonzola salads are all very good.
The people who work here are kind and lively. It's a great spot to laugh and take in the positivity. Oh, and they do a great birthday song, as well!
We decided to end our tour of the Bronx's version of Little Italy at Antonios Trattoria for a traditional italian meal, and we absolutely loved our experience here.
A diner's experience at this family-owned establishment is nothing short of delicious and traditional. The bartenders and waiters are very friendly and know their business well.
As for the food, we started out with the fried calamari, which was perfectly crispy, accompanied by some complimentary freshly baked bread with olive oil. As for the entrees, I had the pasta carbonara, which was super rich and could easily feed two people. My boyfriend enjoyed his veal marsala dish as well.
Stuffed, happy, and feeling like we got a taste of the italian culture in this often overlooked, underrated borough.
Dont miss the opportunity to dine here if you're in the area!
Traditional Italian restaurant with large portion sizes! The restaurant is truly a gem in the surrounding area and neighborhood. It took us a while to find this place via the subway and bus.
It was refreshing to arrive inside and be greeted right away, despite the hustle and bustle that went on inside (extremely busy and very crowded). We miraculously were seated within 5 minutes and checked-in for our complimentary wine (when you order an entree). The restaurant was loud, but I have no complaints, because the food and drinks were very good.
There were plenty of family birthdays and celebrations going on around us. Everyone looked happy and very satisfied with the food. I loved the pasta and seafood dishes we ordered, along with the lemon sorbet and cappuccino! The portion sizes were large (especially for the pastas), so I brought mine home and the leftovers were just as delicious!
We hope to come back again when we are in the area (maybe to visit the Bronx Zoo again when it's warmer and more animals are outside).
I was a little underwhelmed going here. The place itself is quite large and nice inside with a great ambiance and excellent service. It's close by to Arthur Avenue but not actually on Arthur Avenue so the area isn't the best but it's perfectly fine and there's always plenty of people walking around and different places open. The prices are reasonable overall. I had the chicken stuffed with different cheese. The chicken itself was pretty good and the sauce was flavorful. I was skeptical, however, that the food came out within like 5 minutes of ordering it. You really can't make things fresh in that amount of time! It came with a side of pasta with tomato sauce which was nice but the pasta was like normal pasta I'd make at home and the tomato sauce tasted like it came from a can. The dish was also ice cold! It probably would have been better warmed. I liked that we had a free glass of wine with yelp check in but the wine tasted like water – I'm sure it was watered down. I really, really wanted to love this place but there's so many better Italian joints in the area a couple of blocks away.
This place deserves the almost 5 star rating. I highly recommend visiting Little Italy in the Bronx to find places like this! I'm so glad I chose Antonios Trattoria from the many choices in the neighborhood.
My fiancé and I both ordered the "Frutti Di Mare" $25. The portions were huge! I had a full serving leftover for lunch the next day. The red sauce was flavorful and pasta was cooked perfectly. Tons of seafood too!
We visited a few weeks ago on a Saturday night and it was extremely busy. Fortunately, we only waited about 20 minutes for a table. They have an extensive wine list. We enjoyed our bottle of Tempranillo $33. Highly recommend making the trip here. Excellent service, food and environment.
What a great find! Only a 15 minute drive to Yankee Stadium, and a great pre/post-game/event meal.
This very traditional Italian restaurant is worth traveling to. First off, the free glass of Sangiovese red wine with Yelp check-in was delicious! I get why they give you the first glass for free – you can't stop at just one! Sangiovese is a common wine in Italy but hard to find here except for traditional Italian restaurants…worth trimming especially if you're a Chianti fan. The bread they give you is delicious, flaky and chewy. Served with olive oil and some Parmesan, it's is as they say in Itailan- delizioso! The red sauce is homemade and with some quality tomatoes as it was fresh and delicious. The ravioli was also homemade and delicious, the mozarella was bought from a store nearby that makes it daily! I came with a bunch of meat eaters who ordered the chicken Parmesan, chicken Marsala, pork chops, etc and everyone loved their dishes. But just don't eat all your food- you need room for dessert. Hands down- get the tiramisu! That cream- rich and delicious…perfect lady fingers… Sweet espresso… My only complaint is that it's too far for me to get some more today! I also got an espresso which was amazing and a great sweet pull- I wish my Starbucks learned to get that right. Looking back, I can't even think of anything to complain about. It was delicious, reasonably priced, and a great taste of Italy from the comfort of NYC.
Highly recommended! Just go!
