  1. Was super super hungry after a long day of traveling from DC and ran in and got the fried ravioli and a side salad. The fried ravioli was delish and the side salad was decent after I took off like a gazzilion olives (yuck). My bill was about $14, but I guess what do you expect in NYC? They also have single slices of pizza, which I probably would have ordered over the phone if I had known they were a part of the menu.

  2. I don't give out 4 stars unless I feel that the food is worth making a special trip (meaning that it's not in your immediate neighborhood, not that it's a destination place). Grandma Rose's serves solid food, not spectacular, in a simple neighborhood restaurant. I would eat here if I happened to live around there and just wanted a simple and filling dish on my way home from work. If you don't live in the neighborhood, you're not missing out on anything. You can have this quality of food just about anywhere. If you do live in the neighborhood, certainly it's not a waste of your money to eat here and the price is certainly reasonable.

They do have a patio in the back (warning: I got eaten by mosquitoes).

  3. This pizza is shockingly good for how cheap it is. The crust is thin and not doughy or soggy or otherwise upsetting, the sauce actually tastes like sauce, and they actually put cheese on it (in spite of the growing local trend of tossing on like 3 sad chunks of mozzarella and calling it a day).

    Suck on THAT, Carmine's, Tony's, and Sal's.

  4. While driving thru the neihhborhood and stuck in traffic, i noticed the pizza sign at the stop light and i got hungry..go figure.
I walked in, smalk and cozy store got me 2 slices with sausage and i have to say i know i was hungry but they were good. They are not cheap wih the sausage or the cheese. I will come bavk and try other things..great pizza place on my way home.
