Muzzarella Pizza
“The pizza is good especially late night, but don't be mistaken, it's also good for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack.”
“I particularly like the veggie slice and the pesto slice, but the regular old cheese is good too.”
“Come for everything else that the East Village's most solid slice will ever be…”

Good pizza (not great) normal prices. unpleasant man behind the counter. terrible experience. would go here all the time for my go-to pizza in the neighborhood if there wasnt rude customer service!
This place is kind of a gem…a friend of mine suggested we grab a slice here so that we had something in our tummies before we went out and punished our livers.
I had a plain cheese slice is it was delicious! I figured at first it was going to taste similar to a regular, run of the mill (yet oddly satisfying) slice from like say " St. Marks 2 Brothers" but their sauce was much more seasoned, their cheese more flavorful and the crust was fantastic.
I later returned and decided to try their cheese calzone…OH. MY. GOSH….THIS CHEESE CALZONE was ahhhmazing! Oooey gooey cheesey, perfectly awesome dough – this really is the home of my favorite cheese calzone and that alone is was prompted me to write this review.
Their freshly made cheese calzone + marinara sauce = AWESOME.
Oh and YES, I've been here drunk – it's pretty much a catastrophe because everyone else is too…the food is still tasty, but I'd recommend it as a good place to make a quickie stop with 1 or 2 friends in tow (since it IS a hole in the wall and doesn't offer much in the way of seating) if you're looking for cheap eats before going out for drinks, there is a good number of bars around and it's a pretty fun neighborhood.
YAAAAAAAAY Muzzarella*!
*sung like one would sing, "AYE, MACARENA!!" :).
Gotta give this place some credit. I've been here a few times (mostly stopped by in Saturday nights after the clubs close) and the staff has always been nice to everyone. It's a very small spot, maybe only enough room to seat a handful of people.
I'm a simple girl, so I very rarely order anything other than a plain slice. You'll get a big slice here! And though I miss the days of pizza only costing a dollar, I would say it's worth the price here. I don't know the menu, but there are lots of different delicious looking things to choose from!
Definitely worth a try if you're in the area, especially after a night of… libations, as some of the other reviews have suggested lol
Omg, good pizza!
Stumbled in here after mixing my dark liqours with my lights…what was I thinking?
Thankfully two slices of Sicilian slices did me well.
The cheese was great, a little salty, but not too much and the crust was a perfect thickness and was so crispy. I even made friends while trying to keep my balance!
I'll be back!
I wasn't blown away by my cheese slice but my friends veggie slice was delicious. I love when pizza has thick crunchy crust and the cheese isn't super gooey, just a bit stringy and caked on. So good. Her pizza mimicked the texture that I love but mine didn't. It looked quite pitiful. The garlic knots were ok. I was drinking so everything was damn decent at the time. I've had better dollar pizza though.
Disclaimer – I was not sober when I ate here.
Had a slice of the mushroom and pepperoni. Satisfied my drunken need for salty bready goodness at 3am. It was fine, but I've honestly had better frozen pizza.
My friend tried their "lasagna" pizza, and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by it. I expected a messy gob of nasty but it was good and actually tasted like lasagna.
Slices run $2.50-$3.50
I'll keep it short and sweet this place has the best Sicilian pizza I have ever had!the crust is phenomenal I think they use grande cheese which is the best, sauce is incredibly flavorful the regular pie is very good too and they have specialty slices as well prices are moderate but for this Area of alphabet city and the lower East side, you cannot go wrong, it's much better than a dollar a slice joints and not nearly as expensive as artichoke pizza up the block Plus there are bars galore right next-door ,just left a star off because it's small cramped place and not much of an ambience but who cares get it to go and get ready to embark to flavor country!
Muzzarella Pizza is a great neighborhood pizza joint that has remained consistent for the past decade. While not a fancy place like Motorino or Artichoke, it definitely gets the job done!
I always grab a plain slice or two after a night of drinking. It's not greasy like those $1 pizza joints that have been popping up in the neighborhood. In addition to a classic plain slice, I recommend their white pizza, veggie pizza and their Jamaican Beef Patties.
