I can't stand this place. It is disgusting. I work in the neighborhood and there isn't much to eat around here (nothing that I like) but my coworkers always want to go here when we do go out for lunch. It sucks. The restaurant smells mildewy like a wet dirty mop and the food is not good. They must get their products from a really cheap wholesale place. The marinara is flavorless. The chicken tastes processed and the bread is stale. The pizza isn't even good. anyone who says this place is good has no palette for good food at all. It is horrible. The only good thing is the service they are such nice people. very friendly and sweet. too bad their food is horrible. if you had tried the place 20 years ago I can tell you back then it was good but not now… yuk!!
My passionate love affair continues… for FOOD, who else? Takeout for party of two for one entree of Linguine with white clam sauce at $14.45 and Mozzarella sticks at $7.25 suffice for the evening. The white clam sauce was extremely oily as my Linguine was swimming with a very high cholesterol and grease content. My Linguine pasta was difficult to enjoy as it was swimming with oil that I tasted not the clam sauce, albeit the portion is very large. Bread was included in our takeout which was enjoyed with the Marinara sauce. Priced somewhat average to the Midtown Manhattan standards. I had some Linguine the next day which the pasta held up continuing swimming in white clam oil–not sauce.
No comment on the facilities as neither of us utilize. Staff is mostly middle age men who are attentive to our needs as on a Sunday night it appear very little customers patronizing. Note: No business card is available, only takeout menu. I would return and try the Lasagna with meat sauce… yum as it is revival to my foodie interests!
Did someone say food?? I found it in DA BRONX!!
I went here with a relatively large group of people. The food was served buffet style. The service was great given how many people were there. The food I tasted is below.
Penne Vodka – This was a solid dish. The vodka sauce was not as spicy as I would have liked, but it was tasty.
Pasta with Gravy – This was a little bland. The pasta was cooked right, but the gravy was very plain. The meatballs were bland as well. There did not appear to be much seasoning in the meatballs and they were only beef, which I am not a fan of.
Antipasto – This was very good. There was a good variety of meats and cheeses along with peppers. Everything seemed to be fresh too.
Mixed Greens Salad – This was just a regular salad, no complaints.
Will I go back? Definitely. Very nice people and would like to have a sit down meal.
I work at the hospital, so I hit up Yolanda's regularly. So far I've only had the pizza. I haven't ate at their restaurant. Suffice to say, I really like Yolanda's pizza.
The ingredients on their pizza has always been fresh and the dough is cooked throughly. You see them make the pies right in front of your eyes.
The staff is friendly and courteous, its always a pleasure to see them. I feel very welcome there. I have no complaints other than the limited seating at times. The best deal to get is the $5 combo for two generous slices of cheese pizza with a medium fountain drink. The pizza again is freshly made and tasty.
