Pretty good pizza just got the Sicilian slice for 2.25. It was good but I also didn't know what I was ordering before ordering it. It was basically a pie pizza slice. Next time I want to try the normal pizza slices
Yeah, definitely have had better. I had a slice of the mushroom – very basic and nothing exciting to write home about. The bread was very average, as was the cheese which was not entirely warm/hot; mushrooms did not taste good at all. The place is nothing terribly exciting either – but its very convenient right off the 6 train on 116th. This is probably an OK option for a late night or if you are in a real hurry and this is one of the few options. Otherwise, "meh, had better".
Before there was the artisanal thin crust pizza, there was the basic NY slice, pizza with a medium thick crust, cheese that burst with strings when you bit into it and pulled, and a good tomato sauce to cheese ratio. And Sam's, one of my stops, on the way to Costco, makes one of the best NY slices. Not sure about other Yelper experiences, but whenever I've had it the slices have been piping hot. Maybe it has to do with the time you go. I've always gone in the afternoons, when the turnover is high. The slices are also on the larger side–one slice fills you even if you are hungry. This isn't a place where you linger; there's one counter with two stools. Once I've even had to eat by the flip up counter where the cashier's exit and try not to listen to the cashier as he made his personal calls in front of me. What do I care, I'm eating a hot cheesy slice!
I only had a Cheese slice. It was delicious. Thin tasy crust, nice amount of
Cheese, and hot out of the oven. 2.25$ was steep in my reasoning. But it was a damn good slice. And as my friend Pointed out that slice Was bigger than my head! So maybe I should stop complaining About price.
Will have to try their other slices to see if I can say This Is one of the best pizza. So far it's a front runner.
Some of the best pizza around, maybe the best in East Harlem. It's a staple in the community serving us for years. The pizza is tasty with a flaky crust, not too doughy and not too thin; it's just right. The prices have raised over the years but, hey so has rent!
