  1. Came here with a large group for dinner the other night. We had a reservation so we were seated quickly. Drink selection is average, and our drinks came quickly. I had the rigatoni with broccoli and chicken in a lemon cream sauce. The rigatoni and broccoli were overcooked, but the heavy sauce covered it up pretty well. Chicken was fine.

It was slightly annoying that one person's entree came out much later than everyone elses. Other than that, I'm not against coming here.

  2. 5 stars for Bertucci's lunch!!
They have pitcher sangria for $15, we got the white. It was flavorful and strong!
As for lunch we ordered the meat pizza, margarita, and buffalo chicken!! All 3 were delicious. We got a large house salad which was delicious and the bread was warm and tasty.
It has a great Italian restaurant feel. I love brick oven pizza and wasn't sure how it would be coming from a chain.. It was great! I will def head back soon!

  3. It's food that's usually burnt. Last two times they burnt the sauce. The pasta came out burning hot with the veggies and meat just burnt to a crisp. The only good thing about this place is the bread. It's served hot from the oven and has been soft to the touch each time. If you're a parent, you can use this place to punish your kids. Overall, underwhelmed.

  4. (2.5 Stars)

Recently, I was looking for an informal, child-friendly restaurant in JC for 10 adults and 4 kids. Bertucci's advertises itself as being kid friendly, has an extensive menu…the location is great – just outside Path and they validate parking! So it was a good option on every score. Plus we sampled their goodies during Newport crawl & were impressed.

However,  we were let down by the service. It was just immensely poor and discourteous from the minute we sat down. Our large group, including the kids, was kept waiting for more than 25 minutes with no water or the famous Bertucci's bread. There was no sign of our server and the staff just walked around without making eye contact (always a bad sign).  When our server finally showed up and one of us asked for waiter he curtly replied, "not now, I'm not ready…" Really??? Instead he proceeded to take our order…and got water for the table after another 10 minutes. 35 minutes after waiting (we were all starving and kids were getting anxious) we asked for bread and were told…it was being baked. We also requested our server to get the kids' meals first and he got everyone food's together and forgot about 2 of the kids' meals completely. He eventually brought it out after we had almost finished our dinner.

This is not a one star review even after the poor service we received, as the food was not bad. The lobster and shrimp risotto in particular was delicious – packed with both shrimp and fresh lobster in a light garlic broth, it was one of the most popular dishes on the table. Some of the other items our group sampled: Grilled Salmon fillet with green beans, shrimp scampi, baked tortellini with chicken and veggie pizza. The salmon and tortellini were both good…but the pizza was a letdown. We had sampled this during the Newport crawl and it was a thin-crust version then with tiny pieces of veggies. Unfortunately, this one had big chunky pieces of broccoli, was missing the peppers and the sauce tasted like it came out of a can.

After this experience, I would be hesitant to recommend Bertucci's for large groups as we felt they were not equipped to deal with it.

  5. Stopped in for a long lunch with co-workers this past Friday. We were seated quickly and had great service. I wish there were more TV's here though!

We ordered two large pizzas, some of us drank sangria and some drank beer. The sangria was surprisingly good, I am not usually a fan of white sangria but i enjoyed this kind. I think it was because it was pretty sweet. The prices are reasonable, and the portion sizes are good too. The complementary rolls and salad are a nice touch!

  6. Went to this fine Italian establishment on the Yelp Oktoberfest pub crawl and was really pleased with the food fare offered!
We got to sample beer, of course, but the highlights were the delicious pizzas and the amazing meatball sandwiches!! The meatballs were huge and super flavorful, it was really one of the best I've tried!

Thank you for having us 🙂

  7. The food was pretty good and reasonably priced. Our server was very nice and tried hard but service took a while for everything from food arriving to getting the bill. I will not knock off too many stars because we were a very large party of 18.

Tip: If you park across the street by the Chase bank they will validate it and you.park for free.

  8. Bertucci's brick walls with photographs of the past and wooden furniture gives off a down-to-earth and casual vibe making this a great place for group get-togethers, family-night out, or simply a random place to pick when you're suddenly craving Italian cuisine. We came here at 8pm on a Saturday, and it wasn't packed, but that's not to say their dishes weren't delicious. Our food experience began with three pieces of complimentary bread – they were so soft and fresh; as if they just came out of the oven! For our entrées, we ordered the Rigatoni Abruzzi and the Shrimp and Lobster Risotto. Both were cooked very well, made our taste buds jump and satiated our cravings. Finally, we had the Five Layer Chocolate Cake and Cheesecake for dessert – sweet; just like how dessert should be. As for the service, our waiter was very personable and friendly. Overall, I had a relaxing and low-key Saturday-night dining experience here and wouldn't mind stopping by again!
