  1. The quality of the location on Broadway is ten times better, for some reason. Here, the broccoli calzone is not bad, although they do not have any grated cheese to put on your slices here, the cashiers aren't as good as the one on Broadway, and on one occasion, I paid $2.75 for a bottle of apple juice that I forgot at the register. I realized once I got on the train, called the store back, and the cashier said I can come in and take a bottle the next day. She said she'd make a note of it, and when I came the next day, they wouldn't help me, claiming no such note had been made. I'm inclined to not patronize this location again because of this. I see the big wigs of the OU kosher organization eating here frequently, ironic since this store is under the OK kosher supervision! The grandma slice here is pretty good, though, and the calzone is a real calzone oozing with ricotta, not one of those fake calzones lots of kosher stores sell that don't have any ricotta. The best part of the setup is that you can have a slice of pizza or something dairy, wash your hands and mouth, eat something parve, and then go next door for a burger or fried chicken, both of which I hear are pretty good. Although, I don't think it's a good idea to certify a dairy and meat place of the same owner right next to each other. You have to be careful about them sneaking in equipment from one store into the other, a kashrus nightmare. Also ripping me off for a bottle of overpriced Nantucket  Nectars apple juice is a shonda, a disgrace, and there's nothing kosher about stealing from a nice Jewish boy, or anyone for that matter.

  2. Ordered delivery.  (Found on Seamless) Service was prompt and food was warm.  We ordered 1 fried chicken dinner and a burger and shared.  The burger and fries were very good.  The chicken was a tad greasy but I still enjoyed it.  Prices are a bit high due to the fact they are kosher.  I would give them a second try.

  3. The dairy part of a mini-Orthodox food empire on the backside of the very end of Broadway, there's nary a piece of pepperoni or sausage to be found here for dietary reasons.

The relative captive audience seems to permit a rather terrible dining experience. It starts from the organization, where there are three different counters serving different parts of food. The pizza oven is a clue that slices come from the back, but otherwise it's a total clusterfuck.

It took several minutes to track down the cashier to actually pay for my lunch, and another five to figure out where to dispose my tray. Finally when a man appeared, he called me "buddy" which I hate.

The calzone was appropriately flaky and thin – too often it seems whatever cheese is being served inside an entire loaf of bread – but the cheese was generally unmelted and fixed inside. It felt like I was eating a couple pieces of not particularly fresh ricotta and mozzarella out of the fridge. Tomato sauce that came on the side for dipping was too sweet and served in far too small of a portion for the calzone on hand.

I've ignored this place for the nearly three years I've worked at my current office. After this experience, I'll be going back to old routine of walking right by on the way to somewhere else.
