Vaccaro’s Pizza

“Only thing not great were the garlic knots, which were a little overdone and not so great.”

“Love this place, I came here a lot with my x. I haven't had the chance to swing by there lately, but I am obsessed with the Grandma slices.”

  1. I have never been dissapointed here.

We order here almost twice a week sometimes.  The food is always good!  The margarita pie is in a class all its a own.

The service is amazing, this past week I had placed an order with someone that sounded alittle new.  I wasn't very confident when i placed my order, so after some time went by and it should have been delivered I called again to check on it.  I have a feeling she may have screwed it up after repeating it to the new person on the phone.  I was told no problem it will be there in 10 mins.  Not only was it there in 10 mins, but correct and PERFECT!  Probably the best we have ever had from Vaccaro's.

There delivery guys are always so nice and personable.

  2. I've been eating here ever since I can remember. One of my favorite Italian places. I have NEVER been disappointed, the food is always to die for.

Their pizza is great but their hot meals are even better. The service is amazing and the pricing is decent compared to most other Italian places in the area.

They do deliver which is an added plus and the food is always so fresh. The service is great and parking isn't difficult.

  3. Pizza is so impeccably delectable. The older man who answers the phone is a bit grumpy and impatient, but if you're able to look past that – IT IS SO WORTH IT.

  4. Have been coming here with my son on Friday evenings to grab some slices. Every one of the that I've tried have been satisfactory if not very good. Have yet to try any entrees so can't speak about those.

Surroundings always clean and attractive. Staff could be a little more friendly/welcoming/smile more but that may be my only complaint.

Street parking – Muni Meter and free – is only option. We eaten pretty early when we've come here so hadn't been a problem for us.

  5. We went straight to this place right after few hours stay on the beach as we get hungry. Can't believe that I have never visited this neighborhood pizzeria. I am bad. 🙂  Hubby and  I ordered a 12 in pie  of one of their brick oven specialty pizza-  Rustico which is made of
mushooms, prosciutto, goat cheese, sun-dried tomato & garlic for $12.95. It was worth the wait. The crust is thin and crusty but chewy. The veggies are perfectly cooked. My hubby tried their in-house beer and delighted of the taste.

Our waiter was quick, funny and helpful.   The place is clean and welcoming. It is a wonderful place to hang-out , a pizzeria of its own class. I am planning to come back to try other stuff in their menu and will definitely bringing a company of friends.

    P.s.; they do delivery too!

  6. When I'm back in the neighborhood, I've made it my quest to try every restaurant in a 2 mile radius that I never ventured to. My family has been loyal to Umberto's in NHP for as long as I can remember, but Neapolitan-style pizza is not their strong suit and this place is quick walk from where I live. What's more, a friend gave a glowing review for this place as "the best in the area" so I figured there was no harm in trying them out.

Breaking down the Neapolitan pizza, it goes like this: The crust is billowy and slightly thicker than usual, but still crispy on the outside. The sauce is sweet, but balanced enough that it wasn't greasy or heartburn-inducing. Plenty of cheese, and I got an eggplant slice, which was a tasty treat. Couldn't make it a meal without garlic knots, and for $3 they give ten golf ball sized nuggets.

If you're in the neighborhood, there's no reason not to give this place a try, it's better than Village and on par with Palermo in price and quality. I didn't have any issues with the service as other people seem to be complaining about. I could see myself defaulting to Vaccaro's when I'm not in the mood to drive anywhere.

  7. Damn, I love this pizza. It is my favorite pizza place in New York.

That's right. I love their thin crust that is somewhere in between the usual doughy New York slice and a crispy thin tarte flambe. It's brick oven perfection.

My favorite has to be a toss up between the three cheese pie and the one with artichokes, proscuito and olives. I am getting hungry just writing this review!

The cafe was renovated a few years ago and it's pretty adorable. I was there a few months back and enjoyed some pies among friends. The cappuccino was nice and dry as well.

Pizza: it's not just for Friday night anymore.

  8. I grew up in Bellerose. I remember this place when it used to be called "Tilly's." My old neighbor and I went with her baby to have lunch. The minute I had a slice of pizza all the great memories from my childhood re-emerged. The pizza dough was thin and crispy slightly chewy – just perfect. The chicken Caesar salad was $11 but definitely worth it. The chicken breast was grilled just right not too dry and went well with their Caesar dressing.

This place is a gem in a great neighborhood. The renovation looks wonderful… So warm and welcoming. I will definitely come back… And probably order a pie next time 🙂
