Great food, great scene, great people.
I now live out of state but always make it a point to visit strawberry's for some pizza when I'm in New Jersey.
Great beer selection!
My last visit we went out on a limb and ordered pulled pork egg rolls and Mexican pizza. I would definitely recommend it if you want to try something different.
I'd highly recommend strawberry's pub to anyone.
No complaints. Clean, laid back sports bar environment. Servers where attentive and friendly food was fast and very delicious. Even the food i managed to take a sneak peak at that were other guest looked good. I noticed they had a large draft and bottle beer selection. Unfortunately I wasn't able to partake in due to the fact that I was on duty. Smh however theres always next time. Easy to miss because they are at an awkward location where amboy ave and 35 meet but a gps will get you there. If in they area again will definitely return.
Some of the best thin crust pizza from a New Jersey bar period. Very unique in that they put the tasty sauce on top of the cheese you gotta see it and try it to believe it. I'm a massive fan of sausage or mushrooms or meatballs with caramelized onions along with a pitcher of beer & coke. There's plenty of tables both high and traditional scattered throughout the bar and dining room.
Nothing special about the bar albeit fairly sizable. I can't really speak for any of the other food, but the pizza is right up there and worthy of a high rating. They give out frequent user points so after 10 you get free pie.
So I went here on my little barhop adventure with my roommate and he said this place was one of his favorite areas in town. Never been to Woodbridge so I thought "ehhh" let's see. His reasoning: their chicken wings.
OK. When you go to a pizza shop, your first thought usually isn't "hey, let's have some chicken wings" because y'know…it's a pizza shop. I need you to think about that when you go here because they are ON POINT. Deep fried, spicy goodness in every bite. Those are my two requirements in food and I'm so glad they were combined into one beautiful creation.
I remember the pizza being so great last time I was here and unfortunately last night it was a little disappointing. The pizza I think may have needed a few more minutes in the oven, it wasn't crispy like last time. The taste is still great, the crust was off. The boneless wings were also super soggy, although the sauce was good. I saw a few orders of regular wings that looked good, but I was with my mom and she doesn't like to eat them on the bone. The service is always great and the most noticeable thing is the restaurant is so clean and bright! I will be back hoping that it was just an off night because I really do believe it was.
Looking for some 'za' with a modest craft beer selection in a laid back atmosphere? Look no further than Strawberry's. You will not find any strawberry pizza. In fact you likely won't find any dishes that involve strawberries. So don't let the name mislead you.
You will find delicious thin crust style pizza that comes in many different varieties. We started with the wings which are not your typical buffalo style wings. In fact they were actually breaded (which I am usually not a fan of) and came without sauce; however, they were very meaty and the breading they were incased in packed a great, spicy kick. We also had the white pizza and added spinach as a topping. This pizza was frickin' great! Nice consistency all around, fresh tasting ingredients. I'm starting to drool just thinking about it…
As for the beer, they have a pretty decent selection. You'll find the usual culprits as well as some craft including selections from Brooklyn Brewery and Goose Island. I also really enjoyed the service here. We felt very welcomed and were checked up on regularly. The only reason I don't give a full five stars is due to the prices of beer. There is nothing fancy about Strawberry's yet my beer was almost $7. Craft beer is expensive but that just seems a little steep for a casual pub. Other than that, I will most definitely be back and can't wait to tell others about the this place.
P.S. That's right I used 'za' in the beginning of this review to refer to pizza's nickname back from the early 80s. Deal with it.
I liked the vibe here. Friendly and comfortable.
The service started off really good and attentive but then once we were finally ready to order, our waitress disappeared.
The pizza was decent but nothing particularly special.
They had pretty good happy hour specials ($3 for domestic, $5 for craft beer pints). They also have a $5 dollar deal for 2 plain slices and a beer or a soda. Oh and they offer pizza rewards which I thought was pretty cool.
An OK spot to grab a beer and some food if you are in the area.
Great pizza. Some of things I like about this pizza–
I didn't have to use a ton of napkins to sop up the ocean of grease on the pizza.
The veggies tasted fresh.
Plenty of pepperoni.
The interior looks redone, and it was reasonably priced! Also got an antipasto salad which came with a wine flavored vinaigrette. I recommend this place based off of my experience, and will return soon.
