“Living in Montclair, there are several good pizza places to choose from but I always choose this place over those.”

  1. The pizza here is great! I order the meat lovers (small every time).  I like the thicker crust. If you get a large, it comes out thinner – not as tasty to me.  Yes, there is oil on the pizza but it's meat lovers.

  2. This is Jersey style pizza.  Big slices, Crispy crust, Nice flavor in the sauce, although a tad light.  Quality ingredients.

Staff is friendly and they have Birch Beer on the fountain.  For this style pizza, it's a contender for Best in the Tri-Town Area. (Verona, Cedar Grove, Montclair).

Regarding the decor: The booths have pictures of pizza and parmigiana on the tables, which I think is a little "cheesy".   But, the place is new, and everything is clean and comfortable.

Love your place, keep it up, Francos!

  3. We got take out from here tonight and I was so impressed! I didn't expect anything crazy from the 3 star rating but I was pleasantly surprised. I had the portobello mushroom appetizer with fresh mozzarella and the chicken with spinach, eggplant, and fresh mozzarella. Both were delicious. The sauce in the mushroom appetizer was so good that we saved it even though we ate all of the mushrooms. The chicken dish was amazing too. The portions are huge and the prices are very fair. I will definitely order from here again!

  4. A solid 4 star in my book. I frequented Anthony Francos when this location first opened over 5 years ago. I was strictly a pizza or calzone girl thinking that was all a strip mall pizzeria could possibly offer a Jersey Girl. I was dead wrong. After moving away from NJ (gasp) I had forgotten all about this gem. I'm back in town tending to some family business and my brother suggested we stop in for dinner.

I raised more than an eyebrow at the suggestion. He told me to Fugetaboutit I didn't have a choice! He said the food is insane! This is praise of the highest nature from my wine snob /foodie brother(whole family in fact)

We brought a nice bottle of red, which the waitress offered glasses for. (We brought out own) and a cork screw(we forgot that). No liquor or wine served here but bring you own is welcome. We ordered some calamari as an appetizer. Fresh, crisp and flavorful served with a sweet marinara or spicy sauce(not gravy) Tony Soprano would be proud! Delicious! The portion was so large we took most of it home.

For the main course I had the Chicken Florentine, served in a oh so light, brothy red sauce. My brother had the insane Pasta Carbonara(he was right and I had more than one taste). The portions are huge and the prices extremely competitive. I ended up with a large to go box and had 2 more meals from it!

The waitress couldn't have been more than a teen but service was perky and swift. She was very knowledgable and very friendly:)

I ordered a cannoli to go, it wast bad but it also wasn't Calandras!

If you haven't given Anthony Francos a try GO NOW, if you haven't had anything but pizza or calzones GO NOW,  I'll be stopping by again tonight for a to go order.

  5. Was looking for a pizza place that was open and delivered around 10pm and found Anthony Franco's under the filtered search. Really glad I had a hunch to pick them. Friendly service, excellent pizza, prompt service. You really can't beat it.

I was given a 35 minute window from when I had placed my order and they came in 25 minutes.

Don't listen to the rest. The thin crust pizza is soft and dough, cooked just right. They use FRESH mushrooms, none of that canned business. And their chicken slice? Piled on chicken. They dont skimp on the toppings that is for sure!

  6. idk how people eat this. The pizza, regardless of how long it is kept in an oven, still taste like uncooked dough. The specialty slices have 0 flavor. I feel like there is no possible way that people prefer this over Forte's in the nearby area. This review is mainly for the taste and quality of the pizza, as I feel the staff tries their best to keep up with massive amounts of phone and online orders. the main guy there seemed like he spoke italian and spanish and was accommodating of all the guests. he was probably the only one worth keeping there. order tickets were mostly missing including mine.

  7. Great quality pizza and excellent, friendly service!
Their lunch special- a plain slice, a gourmet slice, and a fountain soda, all for $5 is an excellent deal.

  8. Got a personal margherita pizza here tonight. Wasn't too bad, but I wish it was more well done and not as soggy and it could've had a little more basil on top. I do like the fact that they offer personal pizzas, unlike other places in the area! For a Friday night, I only had to wait 20 minutes. Not bad!
