  1. Ive only had food frmo them twice, both times I got their chicken cutlet sandwich which DEFINITELY can be shared between 2 people.  Its yummy and filling.  Their fries and buffalo wings are pretty good.   My next visit I'll be ordering pizza and hopefully that taste yummy.

  2. If you're here for pizza I'm sure you will have a much different review than the one I'm about to give. I ordered a Greek salad there and it literally took 30 minutes to come out. To the point that I had to make it a to-go instead of eating there. The salad itself had way too much dressing and the lettuce was in huge chunks – as if they just pulled it off the head and threw it in the bowl. That aside, I did appreciate the fresh ingredients they did have as part of that salad. And for the price point the portion is pretty big.

Soo come here for pizza. But not during lunch time. The end.

  3. I've been going to Larry & Joes's for over ten years. Their staff is friendly and their food is great. Made fresh and they are not cheap, their plates are huge! It's a family ran place and it's wonderful.

  4. People are waxing poetically here because this is the best pizzeria in this section of Jersey City.  More over, it's one of the best places for food in general around here, where the options generally suck.  Being around the corner from me, I've grabbed a slice or ordered a pie via take out plenty of times; never tried the Italian food, more on that in a second.  The people who run it are friendly enough, and they get orders ready in a reasonable amount of time.  They also like watching college basketball, so it's usually on the TV.  I haven't tried the Italian food–only the pizza–and what I've seen is that Larry & Joe's is a decent place to pick up a pizza in an area with no other.

If you order by the slice, you get a giant (Bronx) slice for $2.  That's a pretty stellar deal, and I'm bumping this up a star for that alone.  The crust has a mild bready flavor and come up pretty crisp and sturdy given its size.  The cheese is decent quality and not too oily.  The sauce is sweet and chunky, and is the main reason I don't eat here all that often; when you get a pie with meatballs however, the sweetness is balanced by the spices and the meat.  It's one of the only times I'd say a sauce needs some herbs added to it.  It has held me back from ordering the Italian food here too, though generally I can make most of what's on the menu at home anyway.  Overall the pizza here is still decent and the prices are low, which are enough to make me patronize them.  If you're in the area and need a slice, stop by.

  5. I can only speak for the pizza here. Pretty average hole-in-the-wall pizza joint. The plain slices are pretty good, not the best I've ever had but certainly far from the worst. For 2.5 days of jury duty this is where I chose to eat.

The guy at the front counter is friendly. For 2 slices and a can of soda it was $5 not a bad deal. At lunch time though try to avoid 12:30ish that is when the high school next store rushes the place and 30-40 kids try to cram in the small space, it's chaotic. I would grab your food and go.

If I get stuck on jury duty again in 3 years I will likely be back here. A-OK.
