Haha I'm not gonna break my five-star consistent rating for sg at this new location that I'm accidentally testing out tonight. As it is almost the end of spring, I could not help but to try another of their spring seasonal specialty – Not so Niçoise.
It was the most expensively priced salad on their menu; and that certainly raised the price/cal ratio. However I had to admit, that flavor wise it was exceptional (mostly thanks to their horseradish dressing). The steelhead was roasted perfectly well that the meat was still tender. Really appreciated the fact that sg provides some fish other than salmon.
Service was organized and quick – dropped by around 7pm and there was already a short line. However it took less than 5 minutes to get my salad ready. Well done sg, eating healthy and delicious can be accomplished at the same time!
sweetgreen is possibly the best salad option I've had that is genuinely delicious, filling, and healthy. The prices are reasonable, the staff is friendly, and swapping ingredients are accommodated.
ordered from my phone for lunch and went for pickup. first timer and i loved it. plenty of ingredients to choose from and although it averages $10 for a decent salad, they really pack the bowl and give you a satisfying portion. not stingy with ingredients at all. my portion of mushrooms and that big piece of avocado was enough to keep me full for the remainder of the workday. and greens were fresh. very pleased. likely to become a regular.
This place has become my new favorite lunch spot. I just downloaded their app and it's fantastic! You can order and pick up easily. You can customize your salad. You get rewards after spending a certain amount and a free salad on your birthday! The food is fresh, organic and delicious. Can't wait to exploit the hell out of this place.
I love this place! After stumbling upon this place during one of my NYC visits, it was hard for me not to come back! The prices are a bit steep, but for a great reason. The food used is all natural and good for you!
Also, there are so many varieties and cool seasonal options for you to choose. The staff members are also very helpful and friendly (my first visit, the staff member gave me great suggestions).
If you're in need for some healthy options and you're in lower Manhattan, definitely check thus place out.
This is the best made-to-order salad place in soho. There are lots of options but this place always has the most quality ingredients.
I would definitely, DEFINITELY recommend ordering for pickup. I've never stood in the enormous line but it seems like it could be a 20-30 minute wait if you don't order ahead.
The salads are sooooo good here. It's funny, because this place is just down the street from where I live, and I never went until 6 months after living there. I had a seasonal specialty the first time… It was called "Beet Don't Kale My Vibe." Of course I had to have that. It was hella good. The second time I went, I had myself the "OMG Omega" with kale instead. No complaints there.
Love coming here. They're so fast and efficient as well. Can't go wrong.
R. is in the building…
normally the only green i consider "sweet" are those jacksons n benjies. dead presidents.
however "sweetgreen" on kenmare is pretty dope. taking a health-centric & local-sourced approach first and combine that into a fun casual concept to eat more veggies.
this is one of two sweetgreen locations that is "CASHLESS." say what!?? no paper money. how they called "sweetgreen" when they don't take or have no green cash money. oh well. i get it. they take plastic and various types of digital wallet/phone payments.
the space. bright. modern. high ceilings. lots of off-white and light tones combined with light woods and flourishes of shiny metal throughout. outside of the natural sunlight via giant windows, the artificial light has a great glow. not overpowering, but not dim either. the left side of the space is dominated with seating options from tables to small wooden bleacher-type seating. the rest of the space is really the operations of sweetgreen. the salad and grain bowl assembly line and wall to wall fresh veggies on display…colors colors colors
there are also a few tables outside in front of sweetgreens if you want to dine al fresco while dining on al fresco eats. seewhatididthere.
the salads? i am a fan. i haven't custom ordered a salad. i have used the preset choices. if you are a fan of kale. sweetgreens is going to be your jam. the kale caesar is a go-to. the right amount of errything and still good source of those vitamins. the tahini/kale salad (forgot the name) is tasty too. lots of crunch. the guacamole green looks tempting…so i got my salad goals for my next visit. and for the record, they cram a lot of salad into those takeout containers…you will be full.
pro tip: if you get medium or heavy dressing, don't store the salads in the fridge for a long time…well you can but they will turn supersoggy. in general, if you order a salad from here, eat it right away. frasssssh eats means eat it right away.
the staff? young, cheeky, full o' energy. supernice without being corporate or rehearsed. i'm not sure why people get so uptight about young'ns having fun while working. it definitely makes the product and vibe in sweetgreen better bc the staff isn't super boxed-in. and their horsing around doesn't delay or hurt the end product. i've seen customers lose their minds here for the dumbest reasons. sweetgreens is not your office. it's casual fun place that serves healthyful-esque product. why so serious? laugh at yourself a little. and don't take your rigidity out on a place that provides a service and product that is top-notch.
the prices? salads run between $10-$12.
pro tip: DO NOT come here for lunch between noon and one. MOBapalooza aka lots of biz-lunch crowds/lines. i'd go off hours OR order online for pickup.
drop mic bc a fork here is a far better utensil for salad eating.
i out.
