I've heard so much about sweetgreen and all the locations around the city and finally got to go since this one opened in my neighborhood !!! Everyone there was super friendly and helpful !!!
The AVOCABO OMGGGGG — its just like a cobb salad with avocado, egg, bacon, tomatoes made with kale and romaine. SO DELICIOUS. I also liked how they had "light medium or heavy" dressing options which made things easier.
Also to Kathryn B.'s comment below… I absolutely HATE when restaurants do Cash Only, so I was actually happy it is credit card only. This restaurant is WITH THE CURRENT TIMES!!! No need for cash registers or the ability for people to rob you or your employees to steal money this is a SMART MOVE in my opinion…
Anyway love sweetgreen and bring your credit card ! 🙂 Can't wait to try another salad !!!
Quick and casual meal. Lots of variety, with seasonal offerings too. All very easily customizable. The line is also much shorter here than by Chloe, if you're just looking for a good salad. They ask you how you like your dressing (light, medium, heavy), which I think is a nice detail. (Conveniently located next to Molly's Cupcakes and a bunch of gelato offerings, all of which you've earned after having a salad.)
I proudly left my last vegetarian meal to be sweetgreen, my all time favorite salad place; though at a different location (west village).
Have tried many different options: Rad Thai is perfect for shrimp lovers with concerns on calorie intake; Umami bowl is great if you are starving and would prefer something healthy and fulfilling; Spicy Sabzi, on the other hand, is good for spicy veggie eaters.
One of their biggest selling points is their seasonal specialties served during different point in the year. Definitely try them before a new season kicks in!
Simple yet hearty, I guess that gave the explanation of popularity at sweetgreen.
I love having sweet green stores in NYC!! My favorite salad chain. This store is fairly new I believe. Minimalist set up with wide open space. Not that many seats. Mostly to take to go to eat.
There are premade salad combos, or you can make your own. Lots of seasonal and local selections. Everything is always really fresh & delicious.
I got the Spicy sabzi which is one of my favorites! Great flavor and combination of ingredients. I always ask for dressing on the side. Speaking of dreasing, all their dressings are extra unique and yummy !! The carrot chili one and the cashew dressing are both superb!!
Great customer service here!! I recommend sweet green whenever you are craving salad!
I completely abhor salads–there are only two occasions where I would willingly eat one:
1) my blunt aunt made another comment about my weight during the last family reunion
2) it's from sweet green
This place has the best array of salads I've ever had. I haven't eaten a single salad here that I haven't liked. Everything is delicious, fresh, and has that "whats in this? It's so good. I can't put my finger on it!" effect. My favorite was first the Guacomole Greens, then it was the Rad Thai, and now it's the umami grain bowl. But you can't go wrong with any of them. Now that this place opened up so close to my office, my wallet may suffer–but my taste buds won't. Thanks Sweetgreen!
The good. Usual excellent fresh salads, doing what sweetgreen do so well as per usual.
It's super close to me, no more trailing down to TriBeCa.
The not so good.
Doesn't take cash? Admirable and bold concept, not so much if you pop out without your cards and only have cash on you.
It's not quite fitted out as industrially stylishly as say the Nomad or TriBeCa locations.
All in all, usual superbness.
I love sweetgreen… But, this location is mediocre compared to the other ones.
I don't know why, but all of my salads from here taste soo sandy. It's super grainy when I bite down. I've never had this problem at other sweetgreen locations.
I once wasn't able to finish a salad cause every bite was crunchy and gritty, but I chalked it up to a one time thing. I'm on my third salad from here now, and it's better… kinda. Still sandy. Probably will just stick to the other locations from now on since I'm moving soon anyways.
Also they give less toppings here than other locations, and the workers are super slow since most are new.
