  1. Bite is my ultimate go to for a sandwich on the weekends if I'm not doing a boozy brunch. The food is absolutely scrumptious, huge fan of the paninis (both the salami and black forest ham!). Typically I do half a panini along with the spicy black bean soup (lay off the sour cream though, it doesn't really add anything to the soup). If you do the full panini, better be hungry because they'll fill you up.

They also have this delicious lemonade concoction, which might be a tad sweet but will hit the spot on a hot summer day. If you have a chance, get the chocolate mousse!

Would consider this to be extremely cheap food for the great quality – in midtown you would probably pay double for this kind of food and it wouldn't be nearly as good.

I've had some bad customer experiences (slow service, messing up my order, etc), which is why they get a 4 and not a 5 in my book, but overall is a solid spot for a quick bite on the weekends.

  2. I'm not vegan, but I LOVE the middle eastern vegan sandwich. It's the only sandwich I've ever gotten there and I can't bring myself to try anything else – it's the perfect blend of grilled vegetables, hummus, and olive oil. I will say that they do put a ton of olive oil on there, so things may get very messy while eating. I've also had the tomato soup, which isn't bad either. I think that for a shop of this size (it seats about a little over 10 people comfortably), the prices are fair and the quality of food is great and consistent. I come here pretty frequently for lunch and my order always tastes delicious. Sometimes, you may have to wait a while for the food to be ready (especially during prime lunch time), but that just means that what you're eating is made fresh and hasn't been sitting there all day. Very much worth the wait.

  3. I don't usually like getting the same thing from a restaurant every time because I like to try new things, but I'm guilty of doing that here. My favorite is the smoked turkey and pesto panini. I don't even like turkey or pesto that much on their own, but this combination is nice. I've also had the chicken panini, but I didn't like it as much.

The people who work here are cool. There's wifi, and overall, it has a coffee shop vibe. The place is pretty small with just a couple of tables. On Fridays, they have a live band play to add to the cool coffee shop vibe.

  4. I came here after a failed attempt to attend a Manhattan Young Democrats Happy Hour event. Maybe it was my mood, or maybe it was the two Average White Girls having an Average White Girl conversation ("OMG they're having a 90s PARTY!"…."like I know he's a player, but he's like so fun"…."and all of a sudden like everyone was so drunk like what?"….."omg that's so funny (no laughter commences)", but my sandwich was as banal as the conversation I had to endure. Seriously, I'm pretty sure if I somehow make it to Purgatory it will be me eating a Mediterranean Turkey sandwich from Bite while listening to an endless, trite and utterly intellect-reducing conversation between two upper-middle class white girls. In an area as culinarily diverse as East Village, I couldn't come here again without feeling guilty about the opportunity cost I had forgone.

  5. Small spot great for a quick sandwich or salad. Awesome choice for vegetarians! My friend and I came here around 3pm on a Sunday afternoon, and it was nearly empty. We ordered the sabih and middle eastern mushroom sandwiches. They were fantastic!

  6. Stopped in for a quick lunch with a friend.  They have breakfast items, soups (including chili) and sandwiches or little plates.  The place is small with about 9 tables.  Tables are small and chairs not especially comfortable but ok.  You order at the counter and they bring the food to you when it is ready.  They have a lot of vegan and vegetarian items-may Mediterranean items.  It's not a large menu but a nice variety.  I had the smoked turkey and pesto panini.  It was on a French-type roll and parts were a bit hard-would have preferred it on a ciabatta roll but wasn't asked about choice of bread.  There was plenty of cheese and turkey and it tasted pretty good.  A friend had the vegetable rolls with dipping sauce. It's a decent spot for a quick meal.

  7. Their iced chai and middle Eastern sandwich are great. It's  a good spot for vegetarian food also try the eggplant panini.

  8. great food.  great service.  the first time I ordered for delivery  I had a problem and the person on the phone completely comped my order.  Every other time after that Ive only had amazing experiences.
