  1. This place has a very warm feel to it.  It's small and cozy.  I had a wrap with fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers and grilled chicken.  It had potential to be really good but the grilled chicken was bland.  I don't even think it was seasoned.  The fries, however, were delicious!  My only complaint with them was they were sliced really thin so you had to eat 3 or 4 at a time to feel like you had one in your mouth.  The person I was with had an appetizer with empanadas and cod fish and shrimp patties.  His dish was delicious so the food definitely has potential.

Prices range from $5-13 dollars for appetizers, salads, wraps and sandwiches.  They also have a dessert case with some tasty Portuguese treats.  Worth a try if you're in the area.

  2. little hint from
outside that the place is Portuguese, but inside one discovers the menu has many Portuguese items interspersed with some American food. bife a portuguesa (steak in garlic sauce with ham and an egg surrounded by freshly made potato chips), bolo de bacalhau ( a little fried codfish pastry), and serradura ( a dessert which is kinda look a Portuguese cookies and cream) were all pretty good. the charming young waitress was very friendly and courteous. pretty nice interior decorated with old black and white photos of Life in Portugal. lots of Portuguese and Brazilian customers. they have churrasco. plenty of desserts including pastel de nata, and she makes a nice cafezinho

  3. My co-worker is on first name basis with the owner (Sandra). It's an ok spot. The sunny fiesta is good. I'm a sucker for dishes with fried egg top over anything.

The Portuguese fried are awesome but I refuse to eat it.

I enjoy having lunch here ignoring my co-working and catching up on my news from cnn from the flat screen.

  4. Second time here.  They close early for dine in – 8.30 pm so last seating is at 8pm.  Came around 7 on Friday.  It was initially empty but around 7.30 the place was packed!

Bitoque bitoque bitoque!!  Grilled steak topped with sunny side up egg topped with a mountain of home made chips.  And there is the brown sauce.  SO GOOD.

Had fish here too… Definitely moist and tender but honestly I think next time both of us will each order a bitoque.

    BYOB.

  5. This is a very delightful find after my fellow residents and I wanted to eat something on our getaway from the hospital. The place is very Portuguese-American! The bread that accompanies your meal is perfect — so soft, with the perfect powdered crust! Even better — brunch all day! I ordered the Portuguese omelette, and it was so delicious! I also love the sauce that came with the home fries — it had just the perfect kick to it. Coffee is great, egg tarts are good. I have to think about when I would be coming to this neighborhood again… it's really that good.

  6. Quaint little gem I stumbled on in my travels. I needed a rather quick lunch, and this place is like a step up from a deli. I went with the Capri salad with fresh mozzarella and rep peppers, and added chicken salad which was awesome; very light on the mayo, with chunks of apple, cranberries, celery and onions. I was happy with my choice, and in and out in half an hour. I saw plenty of people coming in and out picking up lunch orders they had phoned it. Easy to find, and parking right behind or on the street.
