Just Salad
“(Thai chicken crunch) Boy did it fulfill my expectations.”
“I have the reusable bowl, which gets you 2 free toppings each time you bring it in.”
“Actually, it is better than Chop't, which is not saying much but also surprising given the remarkable similarity in concept.”

Today, was my second visit to this location, and it was a good experience. As you enter the line an employee greets you and asks which type of salad you prefer and name. They hand you a ticket and you choose your four essential toppings (carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc). Your third step are the guys who chop up and put your salad dressing. Lastly, you meet the cashier.
The line moves relatively quickly here and employees are courteous and helpful. The only thing I saw that I didn't like was the manager, or at least I believe he was the manager. He was continiously rushing the employees to chop the salads; but it was unnecessary as the line moved very smoothly and they were all doing thie jobs. Anyhow, job well done here.
FYI- Pay a dollar for the Just Salad bowl (White, Orange or Green) and you will get two essential toppings or one free cheese on all future purchases.
Time to find a new salad place- third time they've given me a 'half full' salad -how hard is it to put in enough leetuce? Seriously?
I've ordered for dinner delivery a few times. Lost a star for lack of consistency, but overall not too shabby.
Chicken Noodle Soup – Sometimes there's chicken, sometimes there's no chicken. I suppose eating meat on Ash Wednesday is a big no no anyways.
Tropic Thunder Smoothie – Amazing! If you're stuck between two options, choose this (especially if you're a fan of pineapple).
Warm Grain Bowl – I built my own bowl with brown rice, chicken, avocado, edamame, and roasted cauliflower. I'd give myself a two thumbs up for the combination.
Takeaway = Try the Tropic Thunder Smoothie!
I'm having just salad at noon and am pretty happy about it – got the roasted turkey Cobb salad in consideration of calorie intake, however opted for Asian sesame sauce as that is my favorite. They also have bread accompanied with the salad; flavor not as good as Cosi though.
Also really liked the altitude that cashier was welcoming the customers whenever they stepped in – not a biggie but small pieces do add up.
The kale smoothie with apples, ginger, pineapple and lemon was healthy but a bit flat. Although low in calories, it needed more fruits such as Mango or berries!
Don't get the broccoli topping – it was cold and sour. Otherwise, great salad.
I come here for lunch a lot, as I work a block away. I appreciate that they rotate the menu seasonally, so just when you're getting a little flavor fatigue, there's something new to try.
Right now my favorite salad is the Roasted Turkey Health Cobb. It's filling, and so yummy I usually need very little dressing to go along with it!
In terms of the process: walk in, get in line to place your order. Someone will be waiting to circle or write your order on a small slip of paper, and then a person behind the counter will add your salad ingredients to a mixing bowl. Now move out of the way – step back and wait for one of the choppers to call your name. When you hear your name, hustle up to the counter and answer if you want chopping (you do), salt or pepper, dressing, and bread. Once your salad is ready, get to the counter near the door to pay, and be on your way!
There are a few tables that seat 2 people against the wall, but the place gets pretty busy during lunch so I wouldn't recommend them.
I'm glad to live near this outpost of Just Salad.
They give generous portions of ingredients and they're always fresh. (try getting kale with beets, cucumber, avocado, goat cheese, tandoori chicken, and yogurt cucumber dressing) I don't go here during peak hours so I don't have to deal with crowds. I go here so often, I should probably get one of those reusable bowls.
